The day came today to replace our wooden Ikea dish rack, and before throwing it away I realized it was a balsa wood goldmine. In fact, compared to hobby store prices - it's cheaper to buy one of these and disassemble it at home. The pieces are wonderfully useful lengths.

I apologise for the slight necropost but Erics Idea got me thinking.
I don't have an Ikea within striking distance but there is a Wilkinsons just up the road.
Alas the Wilcos website is difficult to navigate for an ape-ish creature like myself but there are a few interesting things on there that may be worth checking out for use as modelling materials.
I'd recommend swinging in there some time and taking a look.
