Hi!

I don't know if you are aware of this company. They seem to have a lot of interesting models in their various ranges.

Have a look:

In case you have seen some of them, do you know if their scale is suitable for the average 28mm scale (GW, for example)?

I like them a lot, but the $45 shipping to the UK is a bit steep.

WHAT is it really 45$ shipping to Europe? That is completely ridiculous!

You're absolutely right. The flat rate priority mail charge to U.K. is $47.95. Here's a link to the U>S.P.S. estimated cost chart, if you doubt my word...which shows some judgement on your part:

They do have some nice looking figures there. At one point I was really tempted to buy victorian stuff from them, but that whole project died off.

If I was to buy these, I'd check sites like battlefield-berlin.de and miniaturicum.de for lower shipping costs. Surely there are more stores that stock these, but those two spring to my mind first.

Ooh Old Glory UK site carries them with a shipping cost of 10%, which is much nicer. Might have to treat myself to a set of these.

Yeah I think it would be a little hard to justify spending 45$ on just the shipping... will check other sites, but right now there are so many projects in the air that this one is on the cold dead burned out backburner.
Now it is time for some savage orcs from the southlands Smile

I checked Old Glory...they carry Blue Moon also. They charge the full $47.95.
On this side of the Pond Blue Mood is an inexpensive line of mini; if you are a member of Old Glory's Army Deal, you get 40% off the price...of course, membership is $50; ergo, it's only worth it if you're planning a major purchase over the course of a year. Suspect
West Wind's Gothic Horror lines & Dwarf Wars are another relatively inexpensive array of some very nice if not state of the art minis. Their Lucifer's Wars line has possibilities for Chaos pieces. Again, on this side of the Pond Old Glory is a good source; AND West Wind is a British company. What a Face

Yes, Blue Moon and West Wind models have a real potential to go well together!

I will check out the UK link for Old Glory as the shipping seems to be much more accessible and less criminal than the US one...

Battlefield carries them:
http://www.shop.battlefield-berlin.de/index.php/katalog/showarticles/20300-1-blue_moon_manufactoring.html
Shipping is 10-15€ within Europe (15 to the UK). They'd even ship to Australia for 32€
Within Germany it is cheaper of course...

Miniaturicum has them as well:
http://www.miniaturicum.de/index.php?infoBox=0&cPath=58
Shipping is 7,90€ within Europe. Seems to be the better alternative

Old Glory UK does work out cheaper and one presumes quicker shipping than from Germany? Or do they ship all their stuff from the states first? Anyone know a reason why I shouldn't order from them?

Obviously I order my Old Glory stuff from Old Glory USA. However, to the best of my knowledge such as that is, products offered by Old Glory UK are made in Britain as those offer by O.G.USA are made over here.
The Folks at O.G.USA are a delight to deal with; hopefully, this is true over there. What a Face

Sorry, I didn't mean Old Glory had criminal prices. Buying stuff from their UK site might be a much better option for UK customers than using the US one - and vice-versa!

On a different note, I heard that the Blue Moon models come attached to their bases. Is this true?

Blue Moon minis are attached to fairly large round bases some of which have a bit of sculpting on them. I usually remove the base with my trusty old Dremel...while the bases are large, they're not particularly thick. What a Face

BTW West Winds Gothic Horror minis also have bases similar to B.M. attached. Their Dwarf Wars have slot style bases.

No offense taken on the postal question. The cost of the flat rate packages to Europe have just about tripled over the last year; something we can thank our friends at O.P.E.C for.

Actually, the round flat bases suit the ones I usually use for my models, so that's perfect! Smile

If it's any help to my fellow UK and Europe based folk, Old Glory UK does the blue moon minis for about £2 postage to the UK and similar rates to Europe

They can be found Here
