There a good start, solid looking builds.

As requested - (hopefully) constructive critisicms:

Woodwork/beams - Lolly sticks are a good choice, decent price and quite solid. However, there also fairly wide for the scale. I'd suggest, if you can splitting the sticks down the middle to have narrower, more in scale timbers.

I've taken the liberty to doctor (Badly) one of your pics to try & illustrate the point:

The building corners - again the narrower timbers may help with this - given the timber is partly meant to be part of the structural support, They look more like that if they look like there actually a post, rather than a flat timber. I manage this with 2 strips of timber, one on each edge/face of the wall, joining on the corner

Hopefully the close-up from one of my Work in progress shots may help explain this - you should be able to see the 2 pieces and the join on the pic

I've also noticed on a lot of the tudor-style building in the real world have varying thickness' of timber - Something I try & replicate - again a close-up may help

And finally... the roof - Most tiles or even wood, tend to overlap to help the rain run-off, rather than into the cracks, Like so:

I can see with the lolly sticks what you have tried to do, I'd suggest overlapping, kind of like:

Hope it helps

3 main things

1. Building #1 seems too tight.
Too much roof & walls and not enough room to move inside IF you can get your model and fingers in there.

2. Loose the rounded ends of the pop sticks.

3. Butt the ends of the walls together.

Good start though.

cheers for the replies guys!

i know what you mean with the beam width, the buildings were put together in a bit of a rush with the absence of balsa wood to properly finish them. excellent point with the tightness of building one, it's something i've come to realise aswell after a couple of games, not much room to move.

all good points to take in to account for my next project...
