Just thought I'd share our house rule with rope and hook, since I find it awesome Razz

We play with a lot of horizontal boards and planks between our buildings so the battlefield is in multiple layers, and this gives us full use of our rope and hook house rule.
It's pretty simple:
A model equipped with rope and hook may climb vertical without a wall, if he's standing directly under something which could hold the hook. He will not receive the usual bonus for R&H, but can climb where there's no walls Smile

So essentially if there is a balcony 3 inches out from a wall on the second level of a building a model can stand under the edge of the balcony and climb up using standard rules for climbing and without the re-roll benefit usually granted by the Rope & Hook. I agree that is awesome. It is a simply way of giving extra options for allowing models to move off the ground level. I will definitely propose this to my gaming group.

Thanks for sharing. cheers

Not for every table, but I'm definitely including this in the next Sartosa rules set.

(btw, you might want to edit the subject... it's a little confusing.)

Hey, I like it. Makes wonderful sense.

Swing the rope with the hook on it and throw it straight up onto something. Maybe you would need to use your BS to throw then your i to climb.

Nice idea.

Like playtabla proposed first Bs without modification, then climbing roll but i would propose that this one is repeatable.

Hehe don't know what happened with the title - thanks Styro Razz

Our group has generally tried to buff the items that was never used (like rope and hook), and noot it's really awesome - especially for shooters Smile

Hmm. If your using the BS - throwing rule, you might want to clarify:

"The model throws the hook during the Movement phase, before climbing. However, he may not shoot a weapon in the Shooting Phase, as he's put all of his focus on throwing and climbing."

Unless you're forcing him to throw one turn and climb the next. That is FAIR, but not necessarily as fun.

We've actually found, that a BS roll is not needed - I think it will make the rule used too few times since it's too big a risk losing an entire turn just to get over ground level Smile
