"Hello there... I'm Vimes. Commander Vimes. So y'are new in these streets, y'are? Yeah... I know this place as my pockets. And my pockets stink. I was in charge of this sector before the Big Crash... And I can't say the place was a palace to b'gin with! So if ya want to live, follow me as an arrow in a Squig butt."

Thanks for comments! Well DeafNala, I'm living on the other side of the "Röstigraben" (Tom will know what I'm talking about !), near the Lake Léman. So I usually speak french Smile

And yeah I've more scenerys (a whole table in fact...), so I'll take some pictures tomorrow. But my current work isn't in my apartment... Maybe I'll be able to show you some WIP this weekend... Wait and see Very Happy

Oh and I use A LOT of wood, so the bases are made of it ! (with some cardboard on the sides) But it's hard to work with this material, maybe I'll change and use some polystyrene or balsa...

Btw thanks for comments and see you soon pirat

I agree, the gatehouse looks superb! I have a GW fortress, and I wonder if I could use it for a similar conversion. I also saw it being used elsewhere and it looked amazing: http://public.fotki.com/dandanjobarnicles/towne-gate-at-dunbrough/

"Shhh... Be quiet, ya stupid pumpkinhead. Skavens are usually lurking near the corner... Ok, that's the old mill. Friedrich Miller was working here, 'til the Big Crush. Two days after that, some guys used the mill to grind Miller... Sad story isn't it?" said Vimes.

The river mill:

(Hi ! Thank you for your comments !
I just want to show you some pictures of my current work.  Enjoy! (well I hope so  Rolling Eyes  )

Hi Kaern, i like your new watermill a lot. Can you play inside? Are the wheel and chain Lego parts? I thought about using some Lego parts too, but the wheels i find a little to big. If it is possible please show some comparison Miniature.

"Oooooh sweet Sigmar... Too much beer I guess..." said Vimes, finishing his business. "Ok, that's the great canal. Before the Crush the water was clear as kislevit vodka. Now ya can cross the river without a ship..."

Canal sections:

"Say hello to the lady... That's Elvira von Krüz. She gave to the city this statue of herself. Two days after the Crush, some folks cooked her some bronze in fusion... Mad days for mad people..."

"By Sigmar's left testicle! This tower is still here? Archibald Krower was livin' here... Rich as a dwarf, cheap as a Stirlander... I'm sure he's still inside, gripping his gold with his fat hands..."

The old tower:

(Hi! Sorry for the absence... Yep opaque, I use some LEGO parts!   Wink
So here we are, with some new stuff!  Some parts of the canal: done.
I'll make more parts for the canal...

And a new scenery... A tower! Not possible to play inside (like the watermill), but it's a nice cover!
The next project is a merchant house. I'll use some parts of an old scenery...  eeexcellent! )

All your scenery looks excellent. The gatehouse as others have mentioned is class. I really like your latest project too, all the pieces work really well together.

Can I ask you how you achieved the wet look on your canal? That is exactly the look I am aiming for on mine. Is it gloss varnish or have you used a wet effect product? It looks really good nice and dark as a canal should be!

Also looking at the miniatures you have used to display the scenery I noticed a rather cool looking mercenary wearing a fur lined coat and swinging a greatsword any chance of a closer peek he looks the business! Very Happy

JUST BEAUTIFUL! I love the sewer grate, & the scaffolding atop the mill. For some reason or other it took forever for your photo to come up on my Old Lap Top, but it proved to be well worth the wait. VERY WELL DONE! thumbsup

You can see a lego wheel on a cart next to a high elf archer for scale in the first post, second pic. A little large perhaps but I think it looks great and the size works very well. The size would be fairly close to a coaches wheels perhaps. I love the idea of re-purposing toys for terrain. Nice terrain!

"Mmmmh I can smell the sweet perfume of Theobald's bread... He was a famous Halfling baker. But right after the Crush, some guys took him and... Errr... Well... Hum... Oh, look, a bird!"

The bakery:

"Remove your hat, that's an old Sigmar's chapel. The tentacle? Yeah, that's Vater Sigmund. He didn't support the poisoned air of the city..."

The chapel:

"Living in a house just like this was a dream for me... But now, with the Crush and all this madness... Leaving this city? Impossible. That's my place, my home. So shut up, and keep walking!"

The merchant house:

("Take a long breath..." -FRUUUUUUUSH-

Oh my, there is a lot of dust here!

I've been in the Dark City for the last 4 years, but, shame on me, I didn't post anything here... So here we are! I just took some new pictures to reactualise the old posts (more or less...), and... Here is my new stuff!)

"When I was a child, playing here was great. Always som'thing to do... The merchants guild tower was beautiful! Otto, the guild master, always had something for us: a candy, or a spiked stick... What a bastard!"

The tower with square:

"Uhuh remove your hat again, that's a different kind of chapel... The Thigh and the Sword was a wonderful place for lonely men. Or rich merchants. Or married men..."

The brothel:

"Arturo Montigneli was living here, a famous tilean poet. A week before the Crush, he moved to Altdorf. Too many extramarital adventures... This lucky bastard..."

Two houses:

"Ahaaaaa! Theodoric Schwarzhase was living here. A famous knight. He left the city one hour after the Big Crush. Look, he forgot his helmet... A coward? Na. A wise man for sure. A wise man..."

The big house (my last one!):

"Ya can find many elevations like this one in the Shades. The most famous pubs in these streets were right under the most respectable livin' houses... Funny isn't it?"

An elevation (with an exemple...):

"The little blocks are like the beggars: they are everywhere, they stink, but they can be useful..."

Three little blocks:

"Speaking of beggars... We're entering in the Slums, the dark side of... the Shades..." said Vimes, laughing. "Oh boy... Yeah, the Slums. Stinky, stuffy, dangerous. A kind of paradise! Before the Crush, ya can find every Sigmar's day a new little street in this sector, popping from the ground! Now, watch ya back... The Slums are never empty... Never..."

The slums:
