I saw a system for generating point costs for Warhammer troops. Has anyone seen anything similar for Mordheim, or any way to extrapolate one from the other?

Do you mean like a roster builder which calculates your warband cost for you or do you mean a scale for making pricing new types of units that you have written yourself? I am fairly sure both exist...

The fromer used to be on Svenn's site... not sure if its knocking around the internet somewhere still.

For the latter, try starting with existing priced units and adding 5 or so gc per "advance" you give them. That's what I tend to do.

Yeah sorry, I should have said gc and not points. I meant to calculate the gc cost of new types of troops.

I have a really cool throne room from the Dark World game, and wanted to use some of the monsters, rooms, etc from it for a one-off dungeon crawl using Mordheim rules. I wanted to use a system for calculating their value to help balance the dungeon. I could probably use Warhammer points costs for that though if I had to.

Thanks for the help!

By the way, if and when I do come up with such a scenario, would it be useful to anyone else? Does anyone have this set or a similar one?

I've never played Dark World. It's kind of like Heroquest, right?

I am pretty sure that warhammer point costs don't quite work out sadly. The cheapest troops come out way to cheap and the heroes come out way too expensive. I would definitely look at the stats for your intended creature and look at something similar from Mordheim. Or compare to a mercenary warrior as the average human and build up from there

Page 121 in the Mordheim rulebook has a chart with the costs (and thus, values) for increases in the various characteristics. As Lieutenant Hornblower suggested, combining these values with the costs and basic profiles the core henchmen from the various warband lists (as typical and average individuals from their respective race) provide, and adding a bit of guesswork, a rough approximation of a creature's gold / points value for the Mordheim system should indeed be achievable; but other than that, there are no official generation rules I would know of. Smile

Dark World is a very weak HeroQuest, I just bought it because a lot of the models are really cool and strangely underrated.

Yeah I can use the advancement scheme. That would probably work. Thanks again!
