Well, my GW Marienburgers are on hold but in the mean time I got a hold of a bunch of Perry plastics and am building an empire/dogs of war army. Out of the guys built I've painted up a 500gc warband for a short campaign I'm running. They'll be going up against a Middenheimer warband, dwarf treasure hunters and the last one is undetermined. C&C welcome and encouraged.

First off Sir Patrick fitz Christopher. Heavy armour, double handed weapon and dagger.

Next the first champion, Sir Alan Greene. Heavye armour, mace, dagger.

Second champion, Willem van Dale. Heavy armour, sword, dagger.

The young bloods, Edward Greene and Thomas of Kent. First with halberd and dagger the other bow and dagger. (Thomas needs some finishing touches)

Then the crossbows acompanying Willem. Crossbows and daggers.

Two of Sir Patrick's longbowmen. Longbows and daggers. (need finishing touchers)

I haven't any experience with the Perry Plastics, but they certainly look good...they're painting up VERY NICELY. thumbsup
As a bit of advice, your paints may be a bit too thick particularly the red, which is why your getting a slightly gritty finish. Thin them a bit & check the finish for coverage on a bit of scrape plastic . What a Face

The red is a little thick though if you're judging it by the crossbowman's shield, don't. I did 4 or 5 coats on it because I kept screwing up the freehand and plan to scrape it down once I give it another shot. The Perry miniatures are great. They're true scale so they look a little bit funny mixed with GW humans but not enough to really be an issue.
