Just wanted to pop in and introduce myself. My wife and a couple of our good friends just recently decided to get into the Mordheim game. It's my first mini game, and I am beginning to learn the ropes of model painting and the joys of building a warband. I currently play Dwarves, but have a Marienberg band in the wings as well. I've also put together a bit of terrain (still very much the amateur ).

In the real world I'm a non-traditional (read:old) college student, a professional fight choreographer and actor. I teach middle ages swordplay and western martial arts. I'm also a complete gamer geek.

Thanks! Probably be a while before I post any pics of models. Mostly because I'm still in the "paint out of the pot with the basic colors, wash in black, call it a day" phase. The whole shading thing is intimidating. Smile Also, I need a digital camera.

There's no urgency in posting photos...it took me forever to get some pics up. Best bet, in the interim, is to ask how'd-you-do-that questions whenever you spot a technique you like. Most everyone is delighted to pass along their expertise. What a Face

So, you teach swordplay? Sweet! I am trying to find a place that teaches swords here in Edmonton. Work gets in the way...

Welcome to the boards. My first warband was Marienberg.

Indeed. I don't know Edmonton well, but if I poke around I might be able to find a western martial arts group up there. I focus primarily on sword work, mostly on 16th and early 17th century rapier, but I also have a strong affinity for the german longsword tradition.

Ever since I have played a unit of Greatswords in Warhammer (and then used some of the models in Mordheim) I have started to like the longswords as well. Smile
