 Scenario: Escort (Brainstorming)

Escort
One Warband is hired for protecting an important person and guide them through the city of the damned. The other warband got the task to kill the person, before he/she reach his/her destination.

Terrain
Each player takes it in turn to place a piece of terrain, either a ruined building, tower, or other similar item. The streets should be as narrow as possible (even more if the attacker has strong range combat).

Warbands
The Player with the stronger warband is the defender, the weaker warband is the attacker.
The Attacker gets 20 markers with numbers on it. Each Number has to be connected with a warband member. Excess markers count as decoys.
The Attacker place his markers instead of his models 16" away from the deploymentzone of the defender.
After that the defender deploys his warband inclusive his protegé (stats like a youngblood).

Special Rules
The attacker can choose to reveal the markers and place the corresponding modell in place. Unrevealed markers can't shoot or cast and get another penalty of 2 if the defender tries to shoot at them.
Markers has the lowest stats of all unreaveled modells (example: a marker for a elf ranger in a mercenary warband has only M4 like the other humans, an halfling would reduce it to 3 until he is revealed).
Markers have to be revealed, if an modells gets in Ini-Range.

Ending the game:
The Defender wins if the defender gets the protegé to the other table edge or if the attacker routs.
The Attacker wins if the protegé is taken OOA or if the defender routs.

Experience:
the usual

Should i let the warbands(or just one of them) discard the rout tests and they have only the volluntary rout?
Should the defender be allowed to deploy the protegé later but gets a time limit?

Has someone an Idea for the rewards?
i would like some unusual rewards for the winner
Brainstorming:
- a free mutation for posessed if they get their protegé (dark priest) to the other side to the shadow lord
- a search bonus +1 for mercenaries if the get their protegé (a marchant) out of the city
- a blessed item for the witch hunter for killing a witch of renown which tried to excape the justice

could you please clarify the stats for the markers? I dont really get what you mean by:

a free mutation seems way too good compared to a +1 search bonus (is it a +1 for ever or once?)

Otherwise some cool rewards seems like a good idea just dont make them too powerful.

Redgarding XP: maybe a +1 xp for keeping the protege alive. (not to be an asshole, but the word doesnt really fit in the way you use it) or a +1 xp for killing him.

It looks like an interesting idea, just flesh it out some more Smile

Example:

mercenary warband with halfling scout:
all markers have
M3, because the slowest member in the warband is the halfling. If a model moves more than M3 you would know it can't be the halfling, so you have to prove it and reveal it or you have to move up to M3.

If during the game the halfling uses his bow, he showed himself, you know all modells which are still hiding are humans with M4, so you can move them up to M4.

Same for other stats and items if you want to use them (for example a modell with better toughness or initiative or cool items like elven cloak).

The Mutation would be to strong, but it was my first idea which would fit for them, but you are right, it can be to good.

@wording: i just translatet it with leo... which word would you suggest?

@ movement: okay now I get what you meant with the movement (but halflings are M4 dwarfs are M3) Smile

@ reward: I think the mutation is a cool idea and you should keep it, just make sure everybody gets something worth roughly the same.

@ wording: ah internet translators sometimes screws things up Wink how about just calling him a VIP and then giving a few examples for different warbands. Like a grand magister for possessed, a master chef for halflings or an old and experienced tattoo artist for pirates Very Happy
