Objectives and BTB

We're about to start a BTB campaign at the local shop but we've noticed that some of the warbands are missing from the listed Objectives. Does this means that those warbands like Dark Elves, Halflings or Brets aren't playable in this setting?

Stupid question, but thought I'd ask!

Not an official answer, but the Dark Elves are definintely included in 2 objectives, Scourge of the Realm and Silent Threat.

The Bretonnians are easily included by classing them as mercenaries, which come to think of it is the best fit for the Halflings as well.

Some people might argue that if you are playing strickly by fluff then there may not be any reason for halflings to be in Cathay. However, I think that you should generally play the warbands that you want to play and just have fun.

Von Kurst's idea works well and that is what I chose todo for the Gunnery School of Nuln warband (I treated them as a mercenary warband). The rules then say that mercenary warbands can choose the Celestial Protectorate, Lure of Fortune (my choice for Gunnery School of Nuln in my campaign) and Silent Threat.

You can also match warbands to objectives manually (e.g. another member chose to play Sorcerous Society warband and use the Celestial Protectorate objective).

I beg to differ. Halflings would be there in search of exotic new foods and ingrediants! It would be like a culinary treasure trove!

I was working on a halfling caravan project for a while, but since I didn't really like the halfling list in the journal I kind of left the project on the back burner.

As Balrog said there are reasons for the halflings to be in Cathay, food obviously but if you dig deeper into ogre fluff you see that the halflings used to live in the hinterlands of cathay. Some fled to the Moot when the Great Maw descended, but isn't it likely that some ended up in Cathay, Nippon and Ind instead?

And how awesome wouldn't Cathayan halflings be! Or the Ind version?
