Thanks gents!

We fought a couple of more battles, including a Halloween Flee the Haunted Port scenario over a 4x12 board! However the Pirates of the Karibbean campaign has ended.

EvilTed and his Sea Gitz are the overall winner with 40 campaign points.
Congratulations on a hard fought victory! pirates - Pirates of the Karibbean - Page 4 665330 pirates - Pirates of the Karibbean - Page 4 665330 pirates - Pirates of the Karibbean - Page 4 665330

Winning Objective: Scourge of the Seas.
Kevin and his Buccaneers are the next scariest warband.
Chadwicc had the most heroes killed. He lost 5, which is almost an all time low.
The Rieklanders, Skaven and Cathayan Pirates were close behind with 3 or 4 heroes lost by the Rieklanders (3 KIA and one invalided out due to injury and madness.)
Playtable lost NO heroes for the first time EVER in his Mordheim career.

Thoughts on Objectives
The group was pretty thrilled with the concept at the beginning of the campaign. However record keeping is always a challenge for us and the concept of differnt objective paths caused some confusion when players thought that a campaign point should be awarded because a result would have gotten them a point, but was not an objective for their opponent.

The Scourge Objective was the most straightforward. Both the Monarch and the Lure required the accumulation of Artifacts, which did not happen at all until the end of the campaign. The Silent Threat objective really didn't get a good playtest as the player lost interest in the objective quite early on. (He really wanted to pursue the Scourge objective.)

We seemed to accumulate Campaign Points really quickly at the start. I have to consider the way points were awarded for capturing boats and ships. River battles became an easy source of lots of points.

Artifacts.
Most of the scenarios that had the possibility of discovering artifacts were in the Lost City, which I made harder to 'find' in this campaign. By making it harder to find, I made Artifacts nearly impossible to encounter even though they could be found in the jungle or on a ship or in Exploration. Despite past experience with the same scenario tables no one was lucky when rolling for treasure in a scenario or during Exploration. Also the Silent Threat player turned out to have TWO maps of the Lost City at campaign's end that he didn't use because Artifacts aren't important to the Silent Threat objective. If "The Hiest" scenario was available to all players as intended someone might have stolen a map from him earlier.

Thanks to the players for joining the cruise. Thanks to Kaptain Blacksquig for the Karibbean setting! pirates - Pirates of the Karibbean - Page 4 665330

And thanks for reading. Cheers!

Thanks for the battle reports. cheers Thanks also for your final thoughts on using objectives within the campaign. I look forward to seeing whether you choose to refine the concept of objectives further or go back to the old victory point method that you usually use in your campaigns.

You are welcome.

We started a semi-vanilla Mordheim campaign last night. No objectives, no victory points. We had talked about a Storm of Magic campaign, but we had the potential for 4-5 new players so we are taking it easy for now.

One thing I am intrigued by, now that we have actually used them, is Stryo's SECRETS from his Random Events table. Costumizing the secrets to fit objectives would be very interesting.
