Pirate Table 2767_19_06_11_3_17_05

This weekend we had our first SLAM! Swedish Lead Adventure Meet, and our pirate table was presented for the first time. The small event was cosy and went well, good gaming and some nice hanging out with awsome people.
I got to meet HarryMason, FKSN and Hmmm what was your forum name again? Smile

You can read all about it HERE
I will try to get some more pictures up soonish =)

More! Excellent table. Now that it is at this stage, are you going to add more to the town? Are there WIP shots for the stern-house.

Will you do battle reports featuring it or is it just a convention piece? (My vote is for battle reports.)

I didn't read the thread at the Lead Adventure Forum but certainly took my time looking at all the pictures of your nice tables and beautifully painted warbands/armies/squads and whatnot. Congratulations on actually getting so many hobbyists together. Is there something in the threat about how you guys managed all that, or is it "just" impressions?

Looks like a ton of fun was had. Seeing the pics made me said I couldn't participate. I just hope that the experience of organizing the whole thing was good enough for you to have another go soonish.

Hmm the whole thing started out with a fika... wich is a swedish word for hanging out and drinking coffee (exellent expression Very Happy). It came to be since one of the guys from Lead-Adventure forum who lives on Gotland (an island outside of the Stockholm coast) came in to town. We summarely gave some other guys a phonecall, and we decided to meet up at a nice coffee shop here in Stockholm.

Since we where all gamers, all of us with different backgrounds and varied interests, but the common ground firmly cemented by the fact that we all like 28mm miniature gaming, we decided to have some sort of meet. Primarely to meet up with other guys from the same forum, but also to get some good gaming going.

This was the first try, and it went well. We will try to get more people next time, and extend our invetations to include more people from various forums and among our friends.

Next up is a Mordheim weekend here in Stockholm, wich will include the people (FKSN et al.) from Gävle. This will be around the last weekend in July or the first weekend in August.

There will be a SLAM! 1.5 in December (since we can borrow the same theatre again) and then we will have SLAM! II next year.

Regarding the table, we will propably add a table or two, and also some more details to the existing one, like a few stairs and such to the pier.

Hey Kurgan, you would be VERY welcome for the next SLAM!, I am sure I speak for all of us.

If you guys ever want to come, please let me know in advance, since I can book a room (its a rental room in our apartment building) rather cheap, much cheaper than hotels and such. The room it self can easily take 5 or 6 people for sleeping, and its located here on Södermalm, which is the southern island in Stockholm, which means that you would be in the center of town with access to all subway and buses to go where ever, conveniently located about 3-4 minutes walking from the house.
There are two beds, and additional sleeping/bed stuff for at least two more, and perhaps some air-mattresses (which we have a few of as well in our basement).
We decided to let our little club pay for the accommodations for foreign/long way guests, so you only have to pay for your trip, which can be rather cheap if you can put up with Ryan Air, and book in advance.

I think that you guys should consider this as a standing invitation to any of our club events. I would also be open for suggestions when it comes to arrange a Boring Mordheim Meet here in Stockholm. We have access to a great place for gaming and to this room for accommodations, not to mention that I live in that building, and can easily accommodate a few more (given that my girlfriend approves, but she is very open minded and don't usually mind when we have stuff going on).

Its a good idea for the future I think. A Mordheim weekend here in Stockholm, with some great gaming and good eating.

Heya

The palmtrees are actually models from Pegasus Models, and comes 3 in a box. Kind of expensive if you want a whole jungle or the like, but perfect if you just want a few of them. We bought 3 boxes of these, and one box of banana plants. I will order one more boxes of another type of palms later on, since we have decided to make at least one more board to go with this one.

Looks like it was a great meet, looks like something I'd be up for in the future. I'm sure folketsfiende can drag me along, or maybe the other way around. A Stockholm Boring Meet could be fun as well.

Heya Mrtn!

I met with Folketsfiende today in town, on Sophie's Coffe Shop on Södermalm. We had a great day with loads of talking and just good old hanging out, a few friends from Lead Adventure showed up and said hi and sat down for some game talking. All in all, very nice. We decided that I should come over to FF and check your Mordheim game tomorrow (Friday), if everything goes as planned here. One aber, my doughter is somewhat acting up a bit, and refuse to sleep and is very sad over things, so if this continues tomorrow, its the childrens hospital. I hope it will be okay, and if so, we will see each other there I suppose Smile
