Tried to search, couldn't find anything for all the witch hunter topics.

Anyway from what I can see it looks like the Witch is the only hired sword that can't get any skills at all, and is limited to rolling a bazillion times for spells.

Anyway just wanted to check that this is correct and not a misprint.

Well since she is a Hired Sword, she will only roll 4 times total no matter what. If she is lucky enough to roll a skill each time she would know all her spells or be able to cast some of those she does know better.

Also the Witch is one of the hot-button Hired Swords that is often banned or nerfed in campaigns so the lack of a skill table is likely to be a balancing factor not seen as a disadvantage.

Edit: Welcome to the forum!

In the PDF "Swords of the Empire", the witch is actually allowed to have academic skills:
http://cianty.ashtonsanders.com/mim/pdf/swords_of_the_empire.pdfThe PDF is linked on Ciantys and Werekins page, so I believe it is kind of official:

On the other hand, our group is just about to decide how to nerv her, just like von Kurst said. She doesn't really need the Academics, imo.

And Welcome!

Mordheim has not had an official review for the last 6 yrs or so. Mordheimer's site is a collection of rules (official and unofficial) up to a point in time known to him.

Cianty, werekin and friends have been revisiting the old rules and offering their tweaks and revisions since 2009.

What is this... a witch hunt?

The Witch is certainly no less balanced than any other character who uses of spells. She barely packs a punch in close combat so I'd like to know how you drew that conclusion VK.

Nice spots Triumph & Grimscull!

Witches rate amongst the most intriguing of characters. They don't see as much use as they should. Always too busy being burned at the stake or going for a good drowning in the river I suppose.

We have a new waterfront witch in the MiM campaign which fits splendidly into one of the new warbands. Smile

Regards,

Werekin

Actually since we spend a lot of time in Sartosa, Witches are pretty popular with our group, but since I joined this forum I've noticed several ban the witch posts/topics (as per Grimscull's post).

The waterfront witch sounds interesting.
