| Hey guys, I just got the FW newsletter yesterday and found out about Warhammer Force. It's basically a Fantasy version of Forgeworld. They'll produce quality expansions similair to Imperial Armour books. I'm pretty excited about this! Tomorrow they'll introduce the first stuff at Gamesday UK! - Forge World Newsletter #250 wrote:
Warhammer Forge Exclusively Unveiled at Games Day UK
Veteran games developer Rick Priestley and Forge World sculptor Mark Bedford have spent the past few months masterminding a brand new project, a long-awaited foray into resin products and detailed expansions for Warhammer, The Game of Fantasy Battles.
Warhammer Forge unveil a veritable horde of work-in-progress resin kits as well as early layout copies of the first in a series of lavish expansion books for the very first time at Games Day UK. You’ll be able to see the staggering range of resin models that have been created over the past year, and Mark Bedford and his intrepid in-house sculptors Keith Robertson and Steve Whitehead will be available all day to answer any and all questions you have. These intricately detailed models are some of the finest yet produced in resin, adding an incredible depth and breadth to the existing Warhammer range.
Rick Priestley will be on hand to explain his future plans, and Book Production Manager Paul Rudge and Graphic Artist Sam Lamont will be displaying a dizzying array of their incredible work-in-progress example pages from the first Warhammer Forge book, and some phenomenal artwork from Games Workshop artistic stalwart Adrian Smith, as well as everything from single page vignettes to concept sketches and full-colour cover art.
The Warhammer Forge Studio team will be located right next to the Forge World Design Studio stand in the Arena – a map of Games Day can be found here.
You’ll be able to quiz the whole Warhammer Forge design team on the future of this exciting new range, and as an added bonus two of the resin kits on display will be available as advanced pre-releases from the Forge World Sales Stand in strictly limited quantities – details of exactly what these are will be unveiled at Games Day, so don’t miss the Warhammer Forge Studio Stand! It sounds pretty cool, huh?

| I spotted the announcement a couple of days ago on The Miniatures Page. I've got some mixed reactions: seeing an expansion of Forge World stuff for W.F.B. could be REALLY COOL, even if they're not readily available over here. HOWEVER, after seeing what Old Rick the P did to the mail order & old minis, I DREAD to think what he'll do to Forge World. | |

| I knew that they were doing Chaos Dwarfs for some time but this exceeds all my expectations. The modular steam train is f*****g mind-blowing. This is beyond incredible. I may be alone, but these photos, along with the new rulebook, do feel like a totally new age for Warhammer Fantasy. And I approve big time. | |

| Rick is a f**king legend. This much is already evident - just look at the legacy. This new range just proves it and takes our gaming experience to a whole 'nother level of insanity! Love it. I've worked with the resin stuff before and have to say if it's far superior in quality, character and detail to anything else that has come before. The captain of my new warband testifies exactly this and I went to great lengths to extract his fat arse from his monstrous Forgeworld mount! I can't wait to show the forum but the warband (still) isn't finished. DeafNala you to give it up. Mail Order is what it is. With the sheer quantity of product in the secondary market, something has got to give to allow the (now even spikier) wheels to keep turning! It's been a savvy move. From the result that is the incredible new Warhammer rulebook release and what sparkly goodness is scheduled to come from the Warhammer Forge range, there has never been a better time to be hitting the streets of Mordheim, the battlefields of the Old World and beyond. Let's wear big hats and roll some 6's guys. Regards, Werekin. | |

| Wow. Some incredible models there. I just dread to think of the prices...
Those chaos ogres look spectacular. Great to see chaos dwarves reborn at last. They seem to have a cult following that will love the new big toys.
It will be cool if there are additional models and expansions on armies through forgeworld. The models I have seen for fantasy and 40k are both really cool. I like that it appears that they are doing some bitz packs for WHF. That should be really good for Mordheim too! Nothing wrong with some new models!

| I keep coming back to drool over F.W.'s latest creations. The Land Ship & the Chaos Dwarf pieces are ASTOUNDINGLY intricate, WONDERFULLY inspiring works of art. Whether or not I ever have an opportunity to do any of them up, they are a joy to behold. - cianty wrote:

I agree: the Lads over on Chaos Dwarfs On-line are a FINE community of avid enthusiasts; they demonstrate the epitome of good fellowship. If anything they've earned a helluva a lot more than a hand full of miniatures no matter how UBERCOOL they might be. Perhaps the new stuff heralds a re-inclusion of the short, perverse ones in the official G.W. sphere.

| This is true. If Warhammer Forge follows the Forgeworld-to-GW model that has happened in the past then there could well be Chaos Dwarf stuff from GW in plastic in a few years.
(Example: The Tau Piranha was released by Forgeworld and sold very well. The next edition of the Tau Codex included Piranha and a plastic model was released.)
It takes a few years to flow through because making the molds for plastic models is a long process, that won't start until the sales of resin models is deemed sufficiently high by GW's management.

| from what they were saying on the day chaos dwarfs will get a full army list in one of the books but they only intend to make the big stuff as models not any infantry regiments. They did say they may make a troop carrier trailer for the train which would include infantry models though. | |

None yet. But GW are rumoured to be making some more greenskined goodies next year. Warhammer Forge is in it for the long haul - we'll get our turn!

Warhammer Forge is in it for the long haul - we'll get our turn! Continuing along with that thought...you don't have to wait. The best part about the WONDERFUL creations of the Forge World Folks & others is the inspiration/motivation they provide. SO...take something COOL they've made or some bit of concept art they've come up with for a future project AND make your own version of the Beasty. It may not be quite as good from a technical stand point, but it will be uniquely your own...who knows, it MIGHT even be better than theirs. Thus endeth the Sermon of the Day. Say "Amen".

| Mail order certainly isn't what it used to be Deafnala. It's super f*****g organised now! LoL. Hey here's a gem for you... Friend of mine reminded me this month of the days when as kids we would put in mail order lists for miniatures based on writing down the codes for items that were not listed just to see what we would be sent! This was great as we received OOP items we'd never even seen before at random! Of course these days you can hunt down any item you like from the comfort of an armchair online via the black market, if you're patient enough and willing to pay the tab it's all there, even the infamous sheep (which Cianty pointed out to me for comedic value). In respect of having the financing to purchase FW releases... I'm not sure that I did have the funds! That's the danger of running up credit, going impulse shopping online after one too many rums etc... For something special like the centre-piece of a warband, a captain or special character, it sometimes seems worth it to skip lunch for a week or two just to save enough karls. Okay that's enough lupine anecdotes. Regards, Werekin. p.s. If the fine upstanding and obsessively dedicated Chaos Dwarf community have enough room in their collections for the new releases alongside all their lovingly customized kit then they undoubtedly deserve them. Hashut only knows they've been made to wait long enough for it! Should the long abandoned since Dawi-Zharr settle for domination of the Dark Lands or would you (as an overlord amongst their kin) have been nurturing ambitions to return to the World's Edge Mountains to wreak vengeance, to massacre uncorrupted cousins and to take an ancestral hold or two by force... | |

| Awesome! Like poor ol' Deafnala, I'm not exactly in a financial position to actually get any of these models, but I'm still excited anyways! It's good to see Nurgle getting a little love, I really like the plague toads (maybe down the road I'll scrounge some money together and get a few to use as beasts of nurgle for some daemonic cavalry conversions).
I had heard many rumors about a possible forge-world release of Chaos Dwarves, too, and I must say I'm very happy for the Chaos Dwarf community! I feel like my days of big-army collecting are over, but I may even buckle and get a few to build a Black Dwarf warband from BTB.

heard a lot about it being based in the future after chaos has broken the empire. so I'm expecting lots of Chaos and empire. The Characters all seem to be a nurgly version of Man in the Iron mask.

G.W. background fluff is rather like a smorgasbord; you take what you like & leave the rest alone.
