Having finished my first real building I've started on a new project - this will be two small shops either side of an alley way, with a joining walkway at the third level. Below are the first steps. After encountering some difficulties painting the interior of the previous building once I had completed construction, I intend to construct and paint each level as I go. I'll keep you posted as it progresses.

Rear view - there will be a set of stairs leading up the 2nd floor here.

LOOKS GOOD...I like the Bay Window. The Beasty has potential...plus it gave me a couple ideas for a project of my own. thumbsup

Painting as you go is a fine idea. There are invariably spots on completed pieces that, while being visible, are bleeding impossible to get to with a brush. Suspect

The bay window is really nice. I'm eager to see it develop.

Quick post to update people on this project - having been distracted by work and tropical holidays! have finished painting the first building ground floor and the alley way. Just starting on the second building trying out different techniques for hand embossing brickwork! Will post photos soon.

Just a quick update of the project = first floor of the first half is complete. I have started construction of the second building - the glass front is modelled on a 16th century building from London. I constructed a jig to make the 1mm lattice work for the main window.

VERY NICE! The flagstones painted up BEAUTIFULLY & that window is ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR; you've already gone several steps beyond what most of us would even consider doing...provided we had the ability to do so. GREAT STUFF; keep up the SPLENDID WORK! thumbsup

Dude, this is looking really great, it's been said already several times but that bay window is awesome. I'm getting all inspired by the stuff I'm seeing on here.

Do you buy the balsa wood in long strips or have you got those yourself?

That window is looking nice. Now, smash it so it looks as if there's been burning radioactive comets falling all over the town. Smile

Thanks for the comments guys!

Regarding 'smashing the window' - did that already with the first attempt that didn't work out - fortunately this one is located in a spot that was sheltered from the full force of the comet!

RE: Delectable Tea's question - I use 5 x 5 mm strip for the main framework to the buildings, the window frames were cut from 1mm sheet!

Will post more photos as it continues - at the moment the dilemma is construct buildings or paint figures!

Well it may have taken awhile to complete, but it turned out as a VERY COOL piece...the Skinny Guy demonstrating the Evils of Drink is a FINE touch. It will be a great locale for taking photos of your minis as well as being a splendid addition to a gaming table. VERY WELL DONE! thumbsup

I assumed that the 'skinny guy' had decided it was better to die of drink than wait for one of the Shadowlord's minions to catch up with him!
