Hey guys,

Thinking of getting a small mordheim campaign started up between my mates and I. so far we're looking at Witch Hunters, Humans and Dark Elves being locked in, with maybe 1 or 2 more joining.

I want to have fun with this, so I'm going to play Bretonnians from TC8, so here's the first draft:

Questing Knight
-Helmet, Sword, Hammer, Dagger

Knight Errant
-Helmet, Sword, Hammer, Dagger

Knight Errant
-Sword, Hammer, Dagger

2 Squire
-Dagger, Bow, Sword

Squire
-Dagger, Bow

1 Men-at-Arms
-Sword, Axe, dagger

1 Men-at-Arms
-Sword, Axe, Dagger

2 Bowmen
-Longbow, Axe, Dagger

1 Bowmen
-Longbow, Axe, Dagger

Total Crowns: 499, 1 leftover

Starting Warband Rating: 91

Basic idea is to have everything with a missile weapon take sniper positions and pick off as much as possible (especiallt true for squires in order to get as many wyrdstone dice at the end of the game), and have the melee guys try to pick off the guys that survive missile fire.

From what I know of mordheim (not much tbh) has taught me that armour is shit and you either have 2 melee weapons or a ranged weapon (we'll prob just be playing LRB with no real unofficial additions) so I son't need to worry about -1 to hit with offhand or anything.

Feedback is appreciated

Looks a solid start to me. If I tweaked anything it would be to drop swords from henchmen and squires, leaving them to melee with axes and daggers, and use the gold thus saved for an extra henchman. But I do like swords...

mweaver, keep in mind that the bretts get their swords for a dirt cheap 5g each.

The 2 primary reasons armour isn't highly thought of in Mordheim is that 1. many critical hits tend to ignore armour and 2. it's quite common to come across enemies with strength 4 or 5. Still, once you've gotten your save to 4+ or 3+ it'll save your hide (and income dice) quite often - even a negatively modified saving throw is a hell of a lot better than no saving throw at all.

Still, I don't think I've ever had fancy armour in a starting warband, so as you were gentlemen Smile

Have fun with the brets, there are some nice characterfull minis out there. Good call staying away from the heavy armour and war horse. I couldn't resist it when I started mine and regret it, they eat your money, and the mounted rules are a bit harsh. You have a full set of heros so the list looks good.
I like my brets but allways thought the list was missing something and not quite right, doesn't stop me coming back to them tho bounce
Got any pics?
