Here is a DP that might fit into Wee Wars, or Mordheim etc. based on a Warhammer Fantasy RPG (1st ed) game we played a while back:

Blobbo, The Heroicke Knighte of Legende Olde, Snotling "Knight"
40 gc to hire, 20 gc upkeep to replace all the stuff he breaks on accident, or a Holy Relic as payment.

Blobbo was a snotling raised the dung pile in the back of Warboss Gorefist's camp. One day he saw Gorefist and his warband butcher a group of Bretonnian knights. Noticing one Bretonnian with a head wound was still alive Blobbo decided to keep him as a pet. The bretonnian in a concussion fueled daze told Blobbo stories of knights and valor. The dying Bretonnian prayed for the Lady to bless Blobbo. She didn't listen. But someone did. (Ranald, Mork, who knows? Now Blobbo rides his faithful steed around Mordheim and the surrounding areas looking for evil to vanquish and collecting trinkets of various dieties to pray for blessings from. If you can find him, and stand his smell, you just might be able to hire him.

May be Hired: Any non-chaos Human, Greenskin, or Halfling warband may hire him.
Rating: Blobbo and Squiggy together increase the warband's rating by +45 points.
M WS BS S T W I A Ld
Blobbo 4 3 1 2 2 2 3 2 7
Squiggy 2d6 4 0 4 3 1 4 2 6

Equipment: Sword of Legende (counts as magic sword and grants Monster Slayer as per Dwarf Troll Slayer skills), Dragon Scale Armor (4+/2+ vs. fire), helmet
Skills: Dodge, Step Aside, Leap Up
SPECIAL RULES:
Connected: Blobbo has connections with the Marienburg Halfling Mob. If not taken OOA he may accompany a hero to give them +1 to find rare items
"Heroick": Immune to Fear and All Alone tests, if able to charge a enemy model with S5 or higher then he MUST.
Squiggy: Blobbo may ride Squiggy at will as per mounted rules. When dismounted Squiggy will always attempt to stay within 6" of Blobbo, but otherwise may fight as normal. If Blobbo is ever Taken OOA Squiggy will immediately leave the battlefield carrying his injured master to safety.

In our WFRPG campaign Blobbo managed to kill a Dragon by getting it to eat several barrels of black powder. He also managed to take down a bestigor in single combat! (With some minor assistance from a Middenheimer, a Halfling, a Wood Elf and a Dwarf). He was also notorious for rolling critical failures and running wildly out of control on his squig.

Any tips on balance or fairness? He is supposed to be a legendary super overpowered character... for a snotling...

Gameplay wise I hope for him to be a tarpit unit who can also manage to take down monsters. But I am really trying to make him a useful humorous character who is hard to kill, but not a super powered warrior.

haha, well theres no doubt that he's interesting. Has a Don Quixote vibe. I think he'd be fun to use. As far as fairness, I keep to this rule "when in doubt make it more expensive". I think its definitely easier to tell when something is being overpaid for than underpaid for.

Looking at other hired swords that are 20 gp upkeep he is a bit good. Maybe up him to 55 and 25 per upkeep. But you are correct in the whole Don Quixote thing. But instead of being overzealous and nearly blind he is just stupid since he IS a snotling.

Question: does the armor grant as 4+ save BEFORE the +1 save from being mounted, or after? A 3+ save is pretty darn good, but not unbreakable. Also, does he have thing in his second hand or is the Sword so big he needs both hands to wield it?

I had intended it to be a 4+ save before any bonuses for being mounted. However he does not have anything in his second hand. Mechanics and balance wise i counted his armor as Gromril equivalent. I did not think that would balance unfairly due to his 2 T and only one weapon. When mounted he is an arrow magnet. But that is part of the fun!

I would have to ask, due to Squiggy's movement being like a Squigs do you think i need to include the special movement rules from "Da Mob Roolz" or is that sufficiently implied?

Also rules question for you all: Do things like Dodge and Step Aside work while mounted? I can't find it or remember.

they don't, but i would give him a special rules like "lucky one" he gets a 5+ save against attacks (melee and range), because sometimes one or more deities do smile upon him.
