Hello all.
So I'm currently playing a skaven warband ( I love them dirty rats ) and enjoying them hugely. It's the second time I've played them, my first warband was sadly killed off after some truely horrible injury rolls that left me with a nightrunner as the leader and no other heros ( and little or no GC ) Sad
Anyway I love the idea of Veskit and the Mechanical Rat Ogre. Not wanting to buy the actual minis I decided to make my own. They are verry WIP and well.... please be nice... or they'll never get finished. Hahah.
Apologies in advance as I have no camera so pics are taken with my phone, I also have no experience cropping/ resizing etc
Here goes, Veskit first.

The boinic eye is taken from a SM scouts bolt pistol, chopped of the targeter, chopped of the big end, turned it round and drilled a hole in it, everything else is fairly obvious.
bit blury this one.

Then we have the Mechanical Rat Ogre

From the box, with bits of an old watch, guitar string and the plastic tube from one of those whistle lollys.

Neither are up to the usual standard of this form ( which is super high, intimidating and massively inspiring ) but I'm fairly pleased with how they are shaping up. Input and ideas would be verry welcome.

By the way I used him for the first time in my last game and he malfunctioned on my first turn and went berserk
Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

I've done some more work on them since ( not much mind ) and will try to post some more pics of them and the warband ( The Bloody Paw ) at some point.

Sorry to hear The Big Rat went psycho on you...must have been nipping at your Red Bull. Suspect
Both Big & Small Rat Guys look TERRIFIC! I love the telescopic, bionic eye on the Assassin & the various gears, pipes, & tubes on the Mech-Rat...there's a LOT of potential in each. Keep up the GREAT WORK! thumbsup

Thanks you two.. I guess I'll have to push on and finish these fellas... sigh.

Here's some more blury phone pics of my warband.

The Eshin Sorcerer,he has no name yet ( any suggestions?). A bit shiny from the light and the shading on the purple seems lost .

My leader ( a promoted black skaven... as my leader was killed after being taken OOA in his first game!! Sad )
His name is Chittersnick.

One of my Night runners, called Skatt ( hehe ) carrying two tonfas that count as two clubs.

More later.

Great looking warband so far. I particularly like both of your conversions. Very clean, relatively simple, but by focusing on the key elements and not cluttering up the models as a whole, I think the final look really works. I would have known exactly who each model was suppose to be without the titles/explanation.

Thanks StoneTroll, I'm thinking of adding some rats and a skull to Veskits base to look a bit more like the photo in the book undecided tho. In terms of the mechanical rat ogre when he finally gets painted ( i'm a bit intimidated as I've never painted anything that big ) I'm hopeing that he'll look a bit more like a fusion of dead rat ogre and machine.
Thanks again DeafNala, kind words as as ever, I'm a bit narked with my new leader as he seems resistant to learning any new skills when he advances Mad he does however have a BS of 5 ( still holding out for tail fighter so I can use a different model tho )

Lovely stuff I'm a big fan of the skaven. The fur is really well done. Looks the right texture. I like the classic assassin mini. I have him lying around somewhere come to think of it...

Thanks Hadriel Caine, I'm going to try and borrow a camera today and get some better pics of the whole warband up. I couldn't get the focus on the nightrunners fur ( which turned out better than I expected ) with my phone. I picked up a few old skaven assasins on ebay a few weeks ago, plo minis appeal to me as they remind me of wher I was young(er) Sad

Sadly I never got round to geting pics of the whole warband but I did find pics of two unfinished rats. These fellas were wiped out ( again ) so I've started back up with some witch hunters.
