Well, since I played on the small table both games I can say that I beat a prudent retreat in the first game, after securing three out of four treasures. I only got a nurgling and a couple of brethen taken out of action by bowfire, and none of them died, so I could get a couple of new recruits for the second game. In that game I suddenly had 3 henchmen with bows and BS4 (compared to two bows, one BS 3 in the first game), and had much more luck with my shooting, killing one swordsman and stunning the knight (who only had one arm thanks to game one). one of my strongmen (the one with an axe looking in through a window) had got his third attack between the games, and this couple with sprint and our house rules (+1 to hit if you only use one weapon) meant that he was hitting on 2, wounding on 2, with 3 attacks. Consequently he took out two crossbowmen for hamster, killing them both. After taking out most of his warband and getting 6 information points I forced hamster to rout, much to his relief.

One of my new recruits looks like the one in the middle in this shot:

Here's an older shot of my warband, before my magister died at the hands of a steenking ogre:

Yes, the evil game reporting tyranny of folketsfiende has finally ended! A new era has begun. hopefully hamster and our vulgar mercenaries player will join in reporting and perhaps post some pics of their excellent warbands.

COOL LOOKING Band of Creepy, Disease Guys...they have a charm, albeit of a disgusting variety, all their own. VERY WELL DONE! thumbsup

@folketsfiende: enjoy the experience of not having to do everything yourself. What a Face

Thanks guys!

We played two more games this sunday, carnival, ogres and tigermen. The first game was the Manhunt scenario, and I see why some people think it's deadly. Playing against three hydras was pretty rough and ended with at least four permanent deaths (or banishments to the Realm of Chaos for both my plague bearers). One of those deaths was folketsfiende's leader, which means he's lost two leaders in ten or so games.

The ogres got squashed in between two hydras and routed after losing a few. The Carnival split up, and I charged the closest hydra with all my heavy hitters, while most of the rest climbed up on a hill to hide and take pot shots with their bows. The beastmen split up as well, half of them going for the ogres and the other for the hydra I was busy with.
When he reached me folketsfiende split his attacks between the hydra and me, and after killing one plague bearer most of his guys were knocked down or stunned, which meant I could take out the lot, I think I took four or five models out of action in the last turn. Since I took out a hero last, and more than 6" from a friend this meant I got D3 campaign points (3) plus winning warband plus playing a game, which meant I ended up with five campaign points. Smile

After this game I got yet another bow for a henchman, and bought back one plague bearer. This meant I now had 4 bowmen, all with BS 4, and I could now buy poison with a 20% discount, so I bought poisoned arrows for half of the bowmen. Suddenly I was almost as good at ranged fighting as the other human warbands... eeexcellent!

Let's see if folketsfiende can write up the second battle, and if he can post some of the pictures he took. pig

You didn't. Razz So I'll just give you a second pig
Let's see if I remember anything from the second game...

This game was the dungeon crawl scenario, modified for three players by having two of them start in the tunnel. We also replaced the middle T-section with a X-section. The carnival and the beastmen set up in the tunnels, while the ogres started outside. Most of my warband set up in a side tunnel, except for my nurglings and bowmen. These stayed in place to guard my back, while taking potshots on passing enemies all game. This was the first time I tried poison on my bows and that was a good thing, helped me take out at least one ungor, and scared the others quite a bit.

We all were investigating the tunnels, the ogres were the first to wake the Wyrm, but managed to scare it off. My guys found a litter of Giant Rats, one of which managed to take out one of my Tainted. This ended in him being taken out of action and with a crippled hand, resulting in -1 WS. Bad rat! rabbit

In a far off room the beastmen found the Wyrm's Egg, and then they had a running battle when they tried to escape with the egg and fight the Wyrm and the Ogres at the same time. In the end they both routed, and I was the winner in this game too. Maybe folketsfiende can fill in more what happened on his part of the table, I spent most of the game fighting those rats and digging through a cave-in. Smile

Finally I've got time to post some pics! mrtn has already told most of the happenings, so this will be pretty pic-based.

Here are the maneaters wrestling a "hydra":

In the top of this you can see another "hydra", setting up a charge against the maneaters, and in the lower end half the beastmen moving in to take care of the spoils of the fight in the first pic.

Here is the carnival, opting for a charge on the shaggoth-hydra, and a quick rush to an elevated shooting position on top of a ruin.

Here we can see the rest of the beastmen headed for the shaggoth-hydra and his carnivalists.

The heavyhitters from the carnival grappling with their hydra:

Climbing the ruins!

Suddenly a burning wagon appeared (eminently played by a Chaos chariot)...

The halfling scout was left alone with the hydras:

Here is the result of the stupid charge by the beastmen...

The beastmen tried to get aboard the burning wagon, but routed before this goal was achieved.

Horrors of the underground!

Beginning positions. Note the T-intersection, with the Maneaters at the tunnelentry, and the carnival and the beastmen at the two ends of the crossing tunnel. Also, you can see mrtn's hand (WOW!)

The beastmen tried to pick up barrels of gunpowder, and the centigor (nowadays the leader, since the bestigor leader died) picked up the wyrm's egg.

The maneaters tried to find an intersection, where as many as possible of them could get involved in afight.

When the beastmen finally managed to move in for a fight, the ogres fled...

The wyrm appeared (aptly played by an unfinished razordon), but was dealt with by the centigor.

In the end both ogres and beastmen routed, so, yet another win for the carnival...

Well, well, we've played a bunch of games but I haven't had the time to post any pics or meanderings, but here is at last some pretty lousy photos and hopefully understandable rants.

First off: hamster, mrtn, my son and me played a fourway treasure hunt.
We set up our warbands in one corner of the table each. Here is the hamsters Merchant Caravan - known as Which way to Cathay, sporting a fitting sticker:

Some of the beasts got stuck in a forest, some went off to counter the ogre threat.

The ogres didn't care much, but pressed towards the center of the battleground.

Both Maneaters (Big Mean Eating Machines) and Beastmen (Pratityasamutpada) routed early on, leaving the table to The lousy players of Li-Pen (mrtn's Carnival of Chaos) and Which way to Cathay, who turned the game to a combined climb the ruins and hide in wagons shoot out.

In the end Which way to Cathay won the game if I remember correctly.

In this game my son got to choose a scenario and opted for his favourite: Avalanche

The avalanche came from the left.

The ogre setup:

I chose to try and get some of my beasts up on the ruin, with some staying on the ground:

It quickly became apparent though, that the ogres were faster to it:

Some other ogres went into the ruins, waiting for a chance to charge:

The ogres on top of the ruin were swallowed by the avalanche, and being outnumbered on the ground, The Mean big eating machines routed.

This past weekend two matches were played. First The Lousy Players of Li-Pen faced The Mean Big Eating Machines in The Heist. The ogres rushed forward to cover as many possible hideouts as they could...

...but managed to find the thief on their first try. The thief hastily fled towards the Carnival - he can be seen here, hiding behind a mystic stone formation:

At first it seemed that the ogres would managed to get a charge in on the thief, thereby probably taking him out of action and winning the scenario, but some ingenious movement by mrtn prevented this.

The rest of the match consisted of the carnival succesfully hiding the thief behind their warriors, who in the beginning were taken out of action wholesale.

In the end though, the ogres were whittled down, and wisely chose to rout.

The second game was another Avalanche, where The Lousy Players of Li-Pen, The Mean Big Eating Machines and Pratityasamutpada faced the threat of snow masses.

The ogres ended up in the middle, and chose to concentrate their forces on the approaching Beastmen, perhaps not the wisest choice, since Pratityasamutpada are well known for their qualities in close combat.

The beasts of Ind quickly struck down the Maneaters and rushed forward towards the slowly approaching carnival, who with their inferior charge range lost a good many members, and chose to rout.

Right now The Lousy Players of Li-Pen and Pratityasamutpada are tied for Campaign points, with the beastmen ahead almost 100 points in rating. The broadsword of damnation is still in the hands of Which way to Cathay, and the warband closest to victory seems to be the Carnival, but the Maneaters might surprise the rest with a quick rise to power...

Here we see my promoted Henchman hero taking one for the team, just like the plague cart, they both intercepted charges to save the Thief (seen with a raised sacrificial dagger). Fortunately the cart wasn't hurt, and while the Henchman (named Friedrich Vulture Eye) was taken out of action this only resulted in him getting a bump on the head and being Frenzied in the future. Too bad I probably won't have a lot of gain from the Frenzy since he's my ranged specialist, after three Advances all rolling +1 BS he's now got a healthy BS 6! What a Face

As you see from the pics neither player was set up for the thief being found in the first turn, so it quickly turned from "protect the hiding places" to a mad dash to save the thief. Smile

Since I registered here 2 years earlier than you I'd question who's stalking who. Razz Whoever you are...

We played a bunch of games this Friday, me, folketsfiende, his son, Hamster and TinTin who dropped by. First I lost a "The Heist" scenario against Hamster, then I won a bar brawl against him (though one of my heroes died), after which we played a four-player game with ogres and Carnival against beastmen and pirates. That game started with one of my Strongmen buggering off to the Chaos Wastes, losing me a lot of punch and experience, so I routed at first opportunity. Didn't get enough money to give his replacement a weapon, so even if I got some experience losing three heroes in the last five games is a bit much.
Only good thing is that I recruited folketsfiende's hardest bestigor as an undercover agent, so I've got a free hired sword in all games that's not against him.
