If this question has already been asked and answered, I apologize:

Does the skill 'Eagle eyes' increase the special range of the blunderbuss?

I'm not sure, since I don't think the blunderbuss has a actual range, but rather has it's effect described in the weapon's rules.

Uuuh, this debate has been going on for a long time.

I'm on the no side IIRC. But some people argue it does work.

The arguments are, IIRC:

The skill eagle eyes says any ranged weapon is increased. So yeah, it works.

No it doesn't work. The above argument is madness because it could as well increase the width of the blunderbuss shot. Also, the blunderbuss range is noted as special. Special +6" makes no sense.

But all in all it is up to your gaming group.

Umm... in my Mordheim Annual 2002, page 105 Questions and Answers it is written:

Q: "Does the Eagle Eye skill increase the range of a blunderbuss? This seems silly, since the weapon is not affected by Ballistic Skill."

A: "No"

I am a fan of using the FLAME TEMPLATE for blunderbuss. This excludes Eagle Eyes hands down, and more blunderbusses on the board = less blobbing = more strategy.

Eagle eyes: The warriors sight is exceptionally keen. He adds +6" to the range of any missile weapon he is using.

On page 28 of the rulebook all missile weapons are listed.

Page 31 starts the list of all black powder weapons.

Since Eagle Eyes does not use the wording "all shooting weapons" that would make it only work for bows and crossbows, and their different varieties, as listed on pages 28 - 30.

caratacos answered the original query about blunderbusses with the rules clarification from the Annual. Eagle Eye does modify other black powder weapons. Even though they are listed separately under Weapons and Armor they are still missile weapons and can be found listed/referred to as missile weapons under rules errata clarifications. warband equipment lists, trading price charts, etc.
