PostSubject: Fallen Dwarfs from Karak Zorn   Wed 2 Mar 2011 - 7:16

This is the 2nd warband I'm making for this setting. Fallen dwarfs are NOT Chaos dwarfs! They are dwarfs who lived in Karak Zorn. After the mysterious fall of the dwarven hold many of them were buried alive in this place. They survived, but they had to devote themselves to the unknown power, which dwells deep under the hold...

The first mini I have painted is The Corrupted. He's not bigger than an average dwarf, he doesn't look like a mutant, but is much stronger (something like Kislevite bear). The Corrupted cannot use weapon or armor, so the choice wasn't difficult. I chose one of the worst models from GW - slayer from Battle for Skull Pass Smile I changed his hair and removed axes. Now he's corrupted and will fight in the dungeons! Smile

Today something that has been painted very quickly. Ghosts of the fallen!

They cannot use weapon or armor, but I think the dwarf ghosts should look like the dwarfs when they were alive.

Corupted dwarfs, ghost dwarfs.

This will be a very special warband, won't it.

I am really looking forward to the rule set.

Well from a Goblin's perspective all Dwarves are SPOOKY...that aside the Ghostly Grumps turned out suitably FANTASTIC! The glowing blue is very cinematic. VERY WELL DONE! thumbsup

It was my Big Boss Gorefist! Most likely during his stint as a Blood Bowl coach.

What models are those? They look thinner than my brother's Dwarfs so I was thinking non-GW?

Corpse-eaters, last type of henchmen from the Fallen Dwarfs warband. These dwarfs have fallen lower than anyone. They started to eat corpses their dead brothers to survive. Now they are disgusting creatures even to their leaders.

I used 6 ed. dwarfs bits and zombies bits. Oh, and this thing that the first and the third dwarf (from the left) are carrying, is roasted dwarven leg, really delicious Wink

And corpse eaters? Oh no they have fallen so low, that they can not fall any lower.

Really disgusting creatures.

Who will lead this bunch of ....(i do not know the word i need here)

Nice conversions and paint job, really terrifying for people who likes the dwarfs so much as i do.

Time for heroes. These 2 are called "metamorphosed" - dwarfs, who loved gold more than their own souls. After fall of Karak Zorn, they fell to the power of new masters. They have as much gold as they wanted now, but they have changed forever...

They don't look all that corrupt/evil...just basic short, grumpy, greedy alcoholics, like ALL Dwarves. Suspect

Thanks you all for the comments Smile

This is almost the end - there's only a fallen noble (leader) left to paint. Today's mini is a dark ritualist. This dwarf wanted to be a powerful wizard and he sacrificed his soul to something what promised him the power... but he has been deceived. Dwarfs are no wizards, and so the dark ritualist is no wizard, even after the pact with the dark power which reigns in Karak Zorn. He can only use a few rituals, but it's no real magic.

Today the last mini (but I will make better pics of the whole warband, so these are NOT the last pics here!) - fallen noble. It's simple to guess that he is the leader of the fallen dwarfs Wink
