Hello everyone,

I've been browsing this forum for a few days now, and I thought it was time that I make an account and introduce myself. I'm not currently a Mordheim player, though I did play it a few years ago quite regularly. I'm looking to start up again as it was a blast, though it mostly depends on if I can find people in my area who play/are willing to play Mordheim. Seeing as how most people around here play WHFB, it shouldn't be too hard to convince some of them to set aside a few models to scrape together a warband.

A little about myself. I'm currently a student at UW Stevens Point, which is in central Wisconsin if you're unfamiliar with the area. I just finished my freshman year and I'm majoring in clinical laboratory science, if you're curious. I was a longtime player of WH40k, though I stopped shortly after the release of the 4th edition rules due to lack of people near me who were willing to play. When I was into Mordheim I had an undead warband (which had the worst luck of any I've played- though I still loved them), a vanilla style Reiklander warband, and some Marienburgers. Anyways, I don't know how much I'll be posting at this point as I really don't have a lot to add, but I figured I'd at least let you guys know that I'll be here...mostly lurking in the shadows and hoarding the knowledge I can leech off of those more seasoned than myself. Wink

Thanks for signing up, Snyder, and welcome aboard!

I keep my fingers crossed for your endeavours of finding some Mordheim players! It's good to know that there are even more people living in the shadows than those posting here regularly, so thanks again for the introduction.

Maybe you find the time to take some photos of your warbands because you know we love photos here. Wink

How did you find this forum, by the way? I sometimes wonder how people find their way here out of the blue. It definately is a great place for all things Mordheim with a great community (yo, my boyz, this goes out to all o' ya!) so you made the right... click..

Nough babbling from me. Glad you joined and gave us a holler!

Cheers

EDIT: PS - Sick avatar, btw!

I would post pictures of my warbands if I still had them, but unfortunately they were sold a while ago when I stopped gaming. If I do find some Mordheim players and start up a warband, I'll be sure to post some pictures! If that time ever rolls around, you'll all have to forgive my painting skills (which were solidly mediocre to begin with) as they have grown even rustier. Smile I am very pleased to see that nothing but positive advice/encouragement is offered on this site though; it's really refreshing to find such a friendly environment.

I actually stumbled across this site while I was browsing the vast digital sea of information regarding Mordheim. It was the "Tom's Boring" part that piqued my interest; I usually find that forums are generally hostile, poorly moderated, mostly dead, or a vexing combination of all three. Imagine my surprise to find such a well kept and friendly site! It was a very lucky day indeed.

And I like the avatar as well, though I had no part in making it. I found in on a random google images expedition while doing a paper on WWI. Very Happy

I see. Thanks for your replies. And I mostly agree with your general thoughts on forums. For some reason this is not the case here (I think). Maybe it's because this is a rather small community.. dunno.

Hey Snyder,

I have e friend who's going to college 82 miles from you (at ripon) who is getting back into Mordheim too... I doubt it'll be much help, as he doesn't have any warbands either, but would love to play.

If you're ever in Montana, send me a PM.

And of course, welcome to the forum, feel free to join the discussions, even if you don't have any pics to share Wink

see ya around,
ash

Thanks everyone, the warm welcomes are really appreciated! It's awesome to be a part of such a nice community.

Ashton, if I'm even in Montana I'll definitely send you a PM...though with gas prices being what they are, I don't think I'll be going there unless it's for training or something. Sad

And as an update to the Mordheim situation, I actually found a forum for people in the SP area who play WHFB, and I've discovered that they game every Saturday. I'm planning on going in tomorrow to see if anyone plays Mordheim. I was also very pleased to discover that a bunch of people play Battlefleet Gothic, as I've always wanted to start that as well! Shambling hordes of undead are fun, but I love the idea of a battleship with enough firepower to lay waste to a good chunk of a planet. Smile
