Great work, mate! Just one stupid question as I am American, and don't know all the brit/euro lingo: what exactly does "chuffed" mean?

Love your paint scheme, and especially how the blonde youngblood (and the blue eyes are a nice effect) turned out. What sprue is his axe from?

To be chuffed is to be happy with/about something.

The axe is from the Greatswords sprue I believe.

Oh, and to the OP, great stuff, helping to inspire me to get a move on with my own warbands! Cheers!

Why hello @Tom's!

Its been a while, almost exactly a month in fact...
I have been rather busy. I got distracted by Dark Eldar a bit and then had lots of work to do (including two weeks at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre which was INCREDIBLE) followed by more work and a bit of a family crisis.

This has left me very little time for Mordheim or the hobby in general.

This week I painted up my final marksman:

which leaves my warband at 8/10 painted and looking like this:

I followed up this sudden activity with a brush by starting a large commission project down at my FLGS Khaos Games. My WIP can be found here and will be of interest to any D&D or RPG players out there and any body that likes maps or painting in general...

I am nearing the completion of this warband and, I'm unashamed to admit, the Mordheim bug has bitten me good and proper. I'm tempted to do a Chaos warband or a Skaven warband next, or I may start both as long running projects. I want to use the AoW Marauder guy as a leader and do some major kitbashing...

anyway I'll go whilst this is still relatively OT and not a rant.

thanks

Adam

p.s. thanks so much for all hte continued C&C/ interest; it really helps to motivate me!

Go ahead & rant; it's YOUR thread after all. What a Face
The Vertically Challenged One looks to be a FINE addition to the War Band. The Short Lad painted up VERY NICELY...green seems to be the chic color for Dwarves these days. thumbsup

Thanks @DeafNala.

I have completed the basic models required for my first ever Mordheim warband!

and a group shot of the whole warband:

I have really enjoyed painting these chaps up and its not taken a long time in the grand scheme of things either which has been a welcome change from my Dark Eldar and Inquisitor exploits.

I need some opinions on my next group now. I'm tempted by either Chaos or Skaven...
I've seen some wonderful marauder conversions over on warseer and I'm a little worried that a Skaven warband might spill over into a whole army; they were my first ever GW models when I was 7!

so thoughts about the Middenheimers now they're done? I would like to paint up a couple more guys in case I need them as extras in a campaign but I'm happy enough for now.

cheers

Adam

p.s. Thanks for being so supportive so far; all the nice comments make it very easy to motivate myself to paint and make minis!

Wow thanks for the great words of praise! I'm all big headed now :O

I think I've decided on my next warband... It's a controversial one too.

the Fimir. I think Mordheim is the perfect setting for these bog raiders.

I'm going to use the above miniatures shipped from the US.
more soon as I unveil my plans.

Adam

p.s. any suggestions for existing alternative rules or appropriate counts as?

Great minis! Perhaps you could work from the beastmen rules, with a few tweaks?

Beastmen I think is the best, I was thinking Lizardmen at first, but you don't have anything that would count as Skinks.

So it s green light on the Fimir then Smile
I just need a confirmation email from the stockist about shipping to the UK.

I must stress that the above is a stock image. Those miniatures were not painted by me ( I wish!) apologies if that wasn't clear. I'm glad the project concept has been met with such enthusiasm.

I had to break my lurking silence to say how much I love what you have done. You have inspired me to make (another) warband.....Great use of BB minis, I'm stealing wholesale from you, sorry.
I also love the the AHQ mini, a real clasic and supprisingly versitile, despite the static pose, I use one in a WH warband and onother in a bretonian band.

So so much character in your warband, fantastic job.

Wowzer!

Thanks for all the responses people.

@Mo!- I had initially planned to use a couple more of the monopose chaps... I may paint another one up if I get bored of my current projects.
@Lydor- The falconer does seem to be popular doesn't he. The conversion had no real design or plan; I just saw the components and it fit so nicely!
@smokezombie- that's some epic praise thanks matey. THe best form of flattery is imitation so go right ahead Smile

In other news I have just placed an order for $51 USD Smile getting 6 bog raiders, 3 bog raider reinforcements and 1 bog lord shipped asap!

I have a couple of conversions in mind and want to track down the Albion Soothsayer to act as their translator/ slave. I think the celtic imagery should look good together. Maybe the old fen beast as a river troll of something?

I'm getting very excited about this now.

cheers
