For very experienced henchmen, there is no way to replace them other than rolling Prisoners ( 3-3-3 ) on Exploration, or am I missing something? That result seems a bit unfair to the 'evil' warbands. Or do the evil warbands have to option of skipping their special result and taking the generic one? We're talking 50+ gold henchman if it were possible to buy them, which as far as I can tell, you can't. For comparison, the Skaven get.... 3d6 gold. Oooooh.

At the beginning of a campaign it's no big deal, end campaign it's a huge difference, especially when you have people modifying exploration rolls with +/- 1 and rerolls (usually trying to get Prisoners result).

Or, is this balanced out by the evil warbands tending to have stronger heroes (Possessed and Skaven, ... Undead- not so much), therefore the 'good' warbands will be able to keep resupplying their stronger henchmen but the evil guys have to keep raising up a constant supply?

I don't know if this was intentional but often people seem to look at warbands in complete separation from the rules in which they play and sometimes cry 'imbalance'. Maybe this was intentional or maybe it is a convenient imbalance.

I agree with you though that it is no good for evil warbands.

The warbands it most severely affects are warbands like Skaven, Dwarfs, and Orcs. These are all top-tier warbands and can struggle on without it.

Yeah, like Lord 0 says, it's not worth worrying about as those most effected can look after themselves. Wink

I don't often replace experienced Henchmen, I just buy noobz! Laughing

This is one of those problems that I have played for 10 yrs without knowing it existed. Wink

I would recommend Styrofaomking's Sartosa where the prisoners are given a cost limit instead of a racial limit and where nearly everyone can be pirates and just capture replacements. Sorted. Prisoners + Experienced Henchmen imbalance? 665330

(6 6 6) Slave Mine
The warband encounters a lone Chaos Dwarf gaoler who is flogging a sorry looking group of captives while his master and cronies are out raiding. He might have some information about the area but he surely will not spill any insight for freeā€¦

Undead, Skaven, Orc & Goblin, Dark Elf and Chaos warbands must sacrifice a random
henchman for their cause to gain +D3 campaign points.
Otherwise the warband encountering the mine releases the malnourished captives while slaying the gaoler to earn +1 Experience point for the warband leader plus any one of their other Heroes.

Maneaters, Norse and Mercenary warbands may choose to release the captives or offer a sacrifice.

I would suggest a house rule that it cannot be a Big Guy.

I agree that it can hurt if you are already low on henchmen, but the CP can totally be worth it.

CP Drives this game, it is the only thing that everyone wants. I have watched many warbands lose the scenario, but because they got bonus CP from their Objectives move closer to winning then the person who beat them.

The other thing I have noticed that people like to over arm their henchmen. 2 clubs is all they need, maybe if you have nothing to spend your money on give them a bow. All the money should be spent on your heroes.
