 Two Warbands, what would you choose?

Hello Mordheimers!

In our campaign, players are to choose two warbands. These will move around our campaign map, fighting over and conquering territories as they go, until one player reigns supreme! (We will either work on number of territories conquered, or have a 4 objectives to conquer)

We have 4 players at the moment, including myself. I am hoping there will be a healthy mix.

RULES

  • Warbands are described as either Native, Exotic, or Very Exotic. A player must have at least One Native Warband.

  • Warbands are also classified across six degrees of alignment, from Abominable to Charming. Warbands selected must be within two degrees of each other upon this scale.

  • The selection of a Very Exotic Warband, will require both choices to be made within the same degree of alignment, but will provide no alignment bonus. Also there may be only one of each Very Exotic Warband.


Notes

* Witch Hunters may not be chosen with any warbands that contain spellcasters.
* Vulgar Warbands must be defined as either good or evil by the player.
* Both Shadow Hunters and Dark Elves are to be weakened for balance.
* Bretonnian Warband is going to be redesigned (more like witch hunters, but with virtue like skills).

Choose the one you want to play the most then find a compatible one that you like nearly as much. All warbands are pretty well balanced so that isn't much of an issue. If you like close combat, choose the Undead, Sisters of Sigmar, or Possessed. If you like shooting chose an elf warband or Reiklanders. If you like the potential of hired swords choose a mercenary warband. Personally my favorite are the Undead, but I really like every warband I have tried, they all have great potential. If you have never played before I would choose one of the native warbands from the core rulebook 1st, they are are generally the easiest to learn.

one of our guys has gone with pirates and skaven.

i am leaning on EITHER bretonnians and mercenaries .. .... but I also want to do Night Goblins. So if I do the extra will possibly be possessed.

Very Interesting way to set up a campaign, running 2 warbands to keep things "alive"

On a white background wild colors are eye-catching; on a dark background they are blinding/unreadable; AND "red" is reserved for administrative notations. What a Face

I'd go with my UberGoblin(Orc) & Goblin Warband plus either the Outlaws or Bandits.
Choosing Night Goblins would demonstrate that you are a Man of Discerning Taste..as if there EVER was a doubt. thumbsup

No Lizardmen on the list?

Beastmen and Dwarfs. Seem like opposite end of the spectrum as far as mobility and leadership.
