Hi after many projects I have been meaning to do or have partly done and stopped for some reason or another I thought I would attempt to make my own game again but this time instead of planning to show you my progress in stages I thought I would tell you my progress as I do it to keep my interest on it.

The story is basically a all out war between man and machine that has ravaged the planet/land. The theme is a steam-[unk horror skirmish.

Some of the factions I am thinking of at the moment are:
(All Names are pending they are just there to get a feel off what I'm wanting to do)

Straken; The machines stalk the land looking for humans carrying them off to the work plants where they do not return.

Skreak; The hostile environment and pollution has coursed some to mutate into monstrous creatures which dwell in the sewers of the once beautiful city.

The Cult; while others have turned to worshipping the forsaken demons of the underworld calling them to there aid.

The Remnants of the army; Fighting to reclaim the city at any means necessary.

The Survivors; The remains of civilization have broken off into tribes and clans fighting and scavenging to stay alive.

Light Bringers; Religious coots who believe it is there divine duty to rid the world of the sinners and anyone who opposes them.

Plus more which I will post tomorrow.

Weapon types will be ;Pistols, Revolvers, Rifles, Repeater Rifles, Grenades, Grenade Launchers, Rocket Launchers, Energy Weapons(like gauss weapons Lazes ect), SMGs, Shotguns, Turret Guns, Light Machine Guns. (possibly more including stranger weapons like sword guns, Ballistic gloves, Shotgun Pistols, Arc Guns)

Like Mordheim the characters will gain xp and lvl up how ever the person will be able to chose what attribute they lvl up and skills have attribute requirements.

What do you think and if you have any suggestions I'll be happy to hear them I will continue this tomorrow.

Hey Doc!
A couple of suggestions: my first take on your game was that it sounded a lot like an extension of Terminator..I rather liked that. When I hit the various factions it started to sound very G.Wish. If you're going to make the game your own don't borrow so heavily from other systems.
If you like the Daemon minis keep them, but call them something else & don't treat them as fantasy style monsters. You could call them Dimens=Dimensional Travelers; i.e., warp entities with the ability to teleport across dimensional space.
Instead of "Possessed" do the cult as folk who have been subjected to various mutating pollutants. Joining together they hope to survive against the bigots hunting them down in the name of some religion or other (a substitute for Inquisition).
To be your game you have to make it your own creation...you definitely have enough imagination to pull it off. What a Face

Hey Deaf thanks for the reply I was wondering what is G.Wish or was you saying that the game sounds like its a wish list. Anyway I have had another and that is kind of my perception of 12/12 Which ill post later as I have to go now.

Ahh that makes more sense. Anyway the new idea is kind of my take on the whole 2012 end of the world thing. On the discussion of the demon I'm going to instead have a faction of drug taking mad men who believe they are invincible and because they don't die easily and seem not to be hurt the other factions believe they are possessed(kind of like the Persian immortals from the 300film)

lol! That would be a awesomely fun game, a slight change in plan for mine (again) as I'm thinking the current one wouldn't attract to many players since there is a-lot of competition(although mine isn't a manufactured game) like spinespur and the multitude of zombie games

Anyway to the point I've got two new ideas in mind one is a retro sci-fi skirmish with the robot Mafia(robots in fedora hats and the rest of the classical mobster attire) armed with laser Tommy guns and other factions

And the second being a more far out sci-fi skirmish with the intergalactic mob (but of course no one ever calls them that) and a faction that is new species of alien which attaches its self to machinery (in all the sense living machines).

I'm personally leaning towards the first idea as it think it will bring up some fun conversions and playing experiences

I think the cult would work just fine if it was an alien or end of the world cult. More like redemptionists from Necromunda than possessed. Instead of demons maybe an alien team?

So teams like:
Robots (powerful, fast, but some kind of hit and rule rule like Necron's 25% faze out)
Psycho Mutants (Tough strong team with average weapons, but cowardly)
Alien Cult (mostly poor but a random good gear here and there, like old Averlanders Nouve Rich rule)
Aliens (Small size limit, high tech)
Human Military (Small size, requisition gear instead of buy it, so good gear, but chance to be denied)
Human Survivors (special rule to scavenge gear from dead)
Human Religious Group (Light Bringers = human with lots of lasers!)

This is reminding me more of things like X-Com than terminator. I really like the idea of this. I would be interested in following/helping with ideas for this kind of a game. I'm sure many of us would. I think this would work best in a campaign setting similar to BTB or X-Com where you study and learn new tech and such. It would take some work, and I would think each team would need their own campaign goals and bonuses.

My gaming group has voted on the retro sci-fi game (the first game of my last post) however one has voted on the end of the world 2012 idea which I will do after this one, which should take long after since the rules will already be made so ill just have to make rules for bikes vehicles and the factions.

The plans for the game are that it will be set in a parallel universe in a technologically advanced 1930's(not set in stone I've got some other ideas but at the moment this is what ill be using.

Some of the Factions are:

Robot Crime Syndicates (which is set into sub factions);a Triad themed one which will probably be melee focused, a Yakuza themed one which will be a balance between melee and ranged, and the classical Italian-American Mafia being ranged focused.

Then there's the army who pack some punch by using huge robotic battle suits they have the best weapons the best units but there by far the most expensive.

Next you have the rebels living in 'safe houses' and on the out skirts of the city they murder and steal from the inhabitants,they may not be best but they will do anything to get what they want.

I'll continue this tomorrow by editing it so keep checking if your interested.

P.S If anyone has any info on any of the Crime Syndicates like what weapons they used in the 1930's or anything like that it would help alot just P.M it to me.
