VERY COOL! The Mad Kap'n Hatta [my personal favorite] bears a remarkable resemblance to Christopher Lloyd...I LOVE the card in his hat band & his hair looks TERRIFIC. thumbsup

Very nice conversions and GS.

You could have a look here for some inspiration. This guy is making a Beastmen army based on Alice in wonderland/Through the lookingglass.

I'm not entirely sure about the colour-scheme of mAlice. It's right for the character, but I don't know if it's right for an Orc!

mAlice turned out great. The dress looks great, and the bow is wonderful! And the hair, the golden hair... is it a scalp? A wig? Or just a freak of nature?

Thanks guys - He is sulking because they put him in a dress and wig, I'm glad you can tell that's what's going on as that is exactly what I was aiming for.

On advice from Curis on Twitter I've glazed the blue with watered-down Necron Abyss mixed with matt varnish and it looks a bit better.

I'm loving all the subtle brush work: the poka-dot tie, the pattern on the hat, everywhere!

After the Halloween orcs, I thought I had seen it all, but you continue to amaze. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the band develop.

I went to an Alice in Wonderland exhibition at Tate Liverpool gallery a couple of weeks ago. Not just paintings - lots of manuscripts and illustrations, artefacts (wooden boxes of bottles, "magic lantern" slides, toys, etc. Nearly all form the late 18th and early 19th century), illustrations by some famous artists (Salvador Dali, Max Ernst and others), period photos of Victorian theatrical products and other stuff besides. Loved it.

This obviously re-started this long-dormant project and I have finished two more Orcs of The Wonderlanders...

The Knave of Hearts (AKA "Jack"?)

And The White Rabbit:

The band so far:

And some Underland fauna I painted about 17 years ago (!!!)

As always when seeing your stuff, I lack the words to describe how goddamn stunned I am affraid

mAlice turned out extremely cool, I'd definitely date her (or him...or... whatever!). As a huge fan of Alice in Wonderland I love the whole idea and I really look forward to see your version of the Red Queen and the Bandersnatch! I could also imagine a Jubjub-bird... perhaps a slightly out-of-reality goblin with some crude wings strapped to his back, believing he could fly rabbit

VERY COOL! The Alice Crew may just be the best War Band you've come up with; the freehand is OUTSTANDING. The Alice in Wonderland theme really fits so well with the character of Mordheim... it's good to see the Old Project get some attention. VERY WELL DONE! thumbsup

LOVE the mushrooms. clown

Weird and even a little creepy idea for an warband. But I guess that's the point, and you've executed the project very nicely so far with great conversions and just as great painting!
In my eyes Knave looks best of the bunch with that lovely freehanded armour!

That was absolutely brilliant!!!!!!!! I´m a huge fan of themed orc/ork armies, having one myself on their 40th millenium incarnation, and your conversion work and painting was absolutely stunning!

I really loved the Mad Hatter and Alice, and I think that you should go the extra mile and convert a Wyvern into a Jabberwocky! C´mon, you know you need one! Smile

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

Also the swirling patterns on the armor and capes are ace! Will try to do something like this on some of my models...

Hehehehehe, will keep a watch over this thread! Congratulations again for the wonderful work!

Cheers,

Arcuballis

Thanks guys!

@Arcuballis - I'm working on the "Troll" now. It'll be a Bandersnatch, converted from a Ogre Kingdom Mournfang model. Not sure about a Jabberwock... maybe I'll get one of the new Jabberslyths?
@MasterofKatz - I've added the Jubjub Bird to my list!
@sianpää - they were ridiculously easy, I just did some swirly lines and spirals, inbetween the 2nd and 3rd layers of washes!

I'm on Ninjabread again!
