Well this painting contest sponsored by Cool Mini or Not is a bit different from G.W.'s Golden Daemon. For starters it's open to minis made by ANY MANUFACTURER. AND, along with a VERY COOL trophy, the 1st Prize is...
$10,000!

It's just too bad that there are soooooo many great painters out there. I won't even get close to the top 10.

I am curious to whoever is going to win this thing! Must be some impressive work.

I agree; the number of OBSCENELY TALENTED painters has become legion. I'm already humble, a trait I'm proud of; further humiliation is not necessary. Suspect
Beyond seeing some amazing work, I'm looking forward to the revelation of which mini maker's work reaches the final cut. Particularly whether there are any G.W. pieces still standing at the close...now there's an outfit that could use a good dose of humility. Suspect

Couldn't agree more!

Haven't read the rules just yet, but I think a mix-up will win, rather than just a single painted model. Pieces of scenery that tell a small tale are bound to win more than just one very impressive model. Like the CMON-site itself, the awesome goblin diorama. Hoping to see such a piece of work in there.

I'm not even going to compete though, I need a great deal of talent/techniues/tools for that one.

Which modelmanufacturer do you think will win? I think freebooter has a possiblity....

Funny thing, after G.W.'s judging policy of discounting the basing, I had forgotten the vignette thingy.Seeing a REALLY COOL mini with an equally REALLY COOL win would be...well...really cool.
Freebooter stuff & all Werner Klocke's work for that matter are favorites with moi. There are just so many great minis made by so many talented folks available that the possible winning piece could be anything. That said, I'd love to see a S.MO.G. piece in the top three. What a Face
