| Bears from the Northern Wastes and CathayMainly a resident of Kislev, the Ice bear (or Winter bear as it is known in some of the more northerly parts of the Empire, due to it’s occasional appearance during particularly severe winters) hunts mostly reindeer and any livestock that crosses it’s path. It is not above attacking solitary humans or even small groups if hungry.
Seen by Kislevites as the very epitome of the noble savage, it is a great status symbol for a lord to mount such a beast, even if those half-tame specimens are as dangerous to the keeper and troops as they are to their foes. A hefty amount is invested on trying to attain a cub for such training and more on feeding one as it grows up. Such sums are more than worth their price for a nobleman.
Those ice bears that wander south from the Chaos Wastes are the most dangerous of all; in the most extreme cases there is little difference between an ice bear and chaos spawn.
“Don’t come too far south – normally. Saw one outside o’ Ostermark a couple o’ years ago, durin’ that big freeze. Twice the size of a black ‘un, teeth as long as ye arm, all ye could see o’ it when it weren’t movin’ was nothin’ exceptin’ two pitch black holes for eyes. Killed three o’ us before we know it were there an’ it’s hide tough as chainmail. Lost two more tryin’ to kill it an’ that were a shame, ‘cos no way me an’ Althias coulda carried the monsters body back to Hocksenheim. Got a pretty pfennig for its hide though.”
-ENDELHON, HOCHLAND POACHER
There are not only monsters and mutants roaming the Northern Wastes and Cathay. Many kinds of bears live there and although they may not look as frightening they are no less dangerous. This one below is a strange bear often encountered in the forests of the Cathayan borderlands, yet completely unknown to travellers from the Old World. Work in ProgressWhen I received the original miniature I was surprised to find that it was very slim. Also the head looked nothing like what I had in mind for my Cathayan bear model. So I applied a few layers of Green Stuff on both sides of the animal (to make it appear a little bigger) and on the head.

| Haha! Cute! Well done Cianty The Panda as a carnivorous, human flesh eating monster is SO NOT BELIEVABLE That's why I like the fact that you made the bear a Panda. Absurd and funny. _________________ | |
