Hey-o! Don't expect me too much in here, as I'm busy helping Mordheimer with "DeathSquads" skirmish game... however, I've been convinced on making a Sylvania setting for my local gaming group.

I'm halfway done (it's nothing THAT elaborate, really- on par with the Albion setting, I'd say), but I'm using Brahm's LoD setting as a basis, and adding items from "Killer Shrike's" website. So far the acceptable warbands list includes:

GOOD

Mercenaries

Kislev

Witch Hunters –

Vampire Hunters - Brahm Version

Vampire Hunters – Killer Shrike Version

Sisters of Sigmar

#Vampire Hunters- The Brahm list uses a different Prayers of Morr than the “recommended” list. The player may choose either, but upon choosing one spell list, must remain with it.

EVIL

Mercenaries* (As an alternative, you may play Mercenaries as evil... choose upon creation which side you're on!)

Possessed

Beastmen (EiF Version)

Orcs

Carnival of Chaos

UNDEAD

Undead (Vampires)

Restless Dead (BTB)

Necrarchs (Letters of Damned)

The Fallen (Relics)

I'm also throwing in the Vampire Skills from TC (and a few "Holy Skills" from Relics for the Holy leaders to learn, to balance it out), and the Graverobber HS from BTB.

Any other recommendations for material? Warbands, equipment, scenarios, anything?

Welcome back... if only temporary! Very Happy

I think the Corrupted Characters article would be a good addition...
https://boringmordheimforum.forumieren.com/rules-and-gameplay-f1/advanced-rules-for-mutations-gifts-alchemy-surgery-t2595.htm

Also, is it worthwhile adding any of the DD stuff like the Night Bride (http://www.sg.tacticalwargames.net/forum/index.php?topic=61.0) for undead or Murder of Crows (http://www.sg.tacticalwargames.net/forum/index.php?topic=89.0) as a random event (or part of certain scenarios)?

Thanks a bunch, Lemming. I completely forgot about the murder of crows... although, I did update the Bloody Masquerade scenario from Master (seems a lot more appropriate than "Bar brawl" for the divided classes of Sylvanian life.)

Hey King!
What's da haps?

Scenario--Knives in the Dark? Lately I've been thinking it needs a Vampire killing daytime equivalent, mainly because of our resident vampire. Smile

Also Hunt the Heretic and the Erie Downs from Specialist Games.

Happy haunting.

Well, as for Vampire Killing, I'm planning on writing a Variant on "Stagecoach Ambush", which involves the defender (a vampire) having their coach ambushed before dawn, a la the last scene in the book "Dracula". Can the heroes overcome the Gypsy bodyguards and harm the sleeping vampire before the sun can rise?

Cool. Confused as usual though, shouldn't the sunrise be bad for the vamp?

Small question: I thought it'd be great to include the Grave Robber from BTB in the "common" HSs for Sylvania (it IS a land of grave robbers, really.) However, one of the bonuses includes a Lesser Artefact.

I'm working on a new Scenario chart, a new Random Events table, and tons of other stuff, but I think a new Minor Art. chart will be too much for me at the moment. Any recommendations for a Lesser Artefact list that makes sense for Sylvania? The ones I know of are Lustria, BTB, and Relics (I'm leaning towards the latter). Any other ideas?

Wow Wow Wow!

The last scene from B. Stokers Dracula scenario is a great idea!
Also, setting a campaign in Sylvania is a great idea.

Tell me if you need anything?

On the vampire ambush:
I think it should be a bit more like monster hunt, the coach moves, and the players try to intercept it, but if it turns dark, Mr. Darcula turns up and starts eating them. He could be a vampire with HUGE stats (easily 5 across the board, and a few good skills), who munches through warbands. But if intercepted before the warband can steal his treasure and run off.

This would make players that cannot get the treasure attempt to prolong the time for the other warbands, so the vampire will arrive and sweep the board (or sometimes still get sacked), but the warbands who can get a stake in the treasure, will attempt to stop the coach as fast as possible, and then fight it out afterwards. It would be a game where everything isn't decided by your rating.
