I first started playing Mordheim around 2002 or there about, and the first thing I knew was that I wanted to do a Gang of With Hunters. After a long time of contemplation I finaly decided (While watching Bram Stockers Dracula) that a cowboyhat wearing, crossbow wielding action hero was the way to go as far as themes went. I bought some models, but since I didn't trust my greenstuffing voodoo back then, I decided to wait untill my skills advanced.

Then Van Helsing hit the theatres and I instead sulked for a few years. But in the end I said darn it, I don't care that Stephen Sommers ripped me of ( ;) ), I'll do it anyway!

Everything grew from there:

From the left: Promoted Henchman Aron Tischler, Sigmar Priest Franz Eiger, Captain Walter Kurz
Captain Kurz and his hunters WitchHunters3

These guys are pretty much Empire Milita with some green stuff and some bits. Arons sword is from the State Troopers and the torso is old empire swordsmen and I think the head is a from a 40K catachan, Franz legs are 40K cadian, the hammer is from a gnoblar and again empire swordsmen torso

Witchhunters from the left: Joseph Angerer, Phillip Ranier, Dieter Hinterstoisser
Captain Kurz and his hunters WitchHunters1

Captain Kurz and his hunters WitchHunters2

Empire State Troops bodies with militia arms and greenstuff hoods.

Angry Peasents of Rote Fluh

Captain Kurz and his hunters PeasantwithPitchFork

Pretty standard models. Metal Zelots with militia axes added were neccecary. The pitchfork is from the zombiebox.

Flaggelant: Ă–sti
Captain Kurz and his hunters Reiklander8
Empire militia with a zombie sprue head (I think) and a flail made from a skaven flail with and some plastic chain I had laying around.

I have a few more pitchfork peasents and some warhounds (made from chaos hounds, they are big and beutifull =) lying around that realy needs to be painted some day =)

I suppose I have to admit that this warband isn't 100% finished yet. But they are as finished as they are going to get for a while. But once I get inte the mood again I'll go back and ad some finishing touches and paint the details. But for now I'm tired of painting toned down, dark warbands and will persue more collorfull gangs =)

Thank you, and too true about the paintjobb. It's not very good (at least not on the heroes, I'm pretty happy about the peasents). They were something of a rush jobb as I was tired of painting dark and wanted to start playing with them as soon as possible. I'm thinking about repainting the withhunters with red hoods instead to give them a bit more collor.

At least they look good at arms length, standing on the gaming table Wink

IMHO, they look their best when lying face down, ready to receive a charge from one of my warbands, but I guess we're just two different people.

Those are pretty rad witch hunters, I dig the hoods.
