If a henchman rolls Lad's got talent, he can choose two skill trees, so says the rulebook. But how does this work in case of a warband that has racial skill trees like Orcs/Goblins or Skaven etc..:

A) Can they choose 2 skill trees (e.g. Strength, Combat) PLUS the racial skill tree (so 3 trees)?

B) Or is it only two IN TOTAL but one of them may be the racial skill tree (so 2 trees)?

This is the correct answer:

A: The Lad’s Got Talent result says “You may choose two skill lists available to Heroes in your warband”, and as your warband’s specialist skills ARE available to your Heroes that list does indeed take up one of those two if it is one of those chosen.

My group has always played with the interpretation that you get two trees *in addition* to the two you get. I have played in a few campaigns without it, and it is just a little less fun.

It does indeed take one up if you choose it, the thing is you don't *have* to choose it in order to select a skill from it. At the top of each list it says you can choose a skill from the special list instead of one of the lists you have access to.

Since the promoted Lad is generally better than any youngbloods" in stats - and in some cases comparable to champions - having only two skill trees to choose from is balancing, I think.

Probably. I have never noticed anything unbalanced or (more importantly) unfun about allowing it though. And this is from someone who mostly plays Marienburg so doesn't even *get* any racial skills.
