I have not painted a figure in about a year, so i painted the Pit Fighter i converted a few months ago to get back in the swing of things. For those who don't remember the conversion:

It's very sloppy, and the cloak came out almost the same color as the pants. I am pleased with the knee-patch and fish. The flesh 'aint half bad either.

A very nice conversion. As you say, the paint job isn't as precise as it could have been but overall it's a very inventive piece, and I love the Murmillo style helmet; also, what did you use for the flail? It looks great, as does the fish Smile

The flail is made from pieces of the Empire Flagellants box.

And you know... for a hired sword i will never hire, and only use when random happenings force me to... i think he turned out just fine! Pit Fighter practice Icon_razz

I once got a pit fighter by the "returning a favour" roll, he's been in my warband since.

I, normally don't hire him as well, but it was for free and he does a nice amount of damage, so I decided to keep him Pit Fighter practice Icon_razz

Anyway, you did a good job on the conversion, it looks simple but effective!

The best reason for doing up the Hired Swords isn't so much because they are useful; it's more that they are OH SO COOL. The Pit Fighter is a FINE example of the "OH SO COOL" factor. Again, VERY WELL DONE! Pit Fighter practice 544694
