Please allow me to introduce my dwarf treasure hunter warband.
Bertl's Expedition for the Young Dwarf
The leader Um-Berto Bertl - who can be easily recognised by his golden armour - is a rather greedy dwarf who wants to travel to mordheim in order to dig some wyrdstone shards for his personal pleasure. Unfortunately he isn't the most charismatic dwarf in his clan, and since other adult dwarfs try to avoid him, Bertl decided to recruit some younger Beardlings for his cause. "To get some blood on your beards, pals" he says.. He also convinced the Engineer Harri Blutgrätsche (Harri Razorblade-tackle), who has an alcohol and nicotine problem and owes Bertl a fair amout of gold, as well as 2 furious Slayers who are always looking for a glorious way to redeem themselves. Bertl doesn't really expect his warband to return unharmed, but alas, as long as the ones still standing carry bags full with wyrdstone, it's okay with him.
Ferdl, Um-Berto Bertl
Ruprecht, Beppo, Schorsch, Hulgrif "der Trollslayer" (he claims to be a trollslayer and not just an old dwarf who likes to go naked into battle..)
Woiferl, Murx, Ed
Murlocmalmer (Murloccrunsher), Hobbitbrecher (Hobbitbreaker)
Hias, Harri Blutgrätsche (Harri Razorblade-tackle)
Almost all dwarfs have at least one Neodym-Magnet somwhere in their body to carry the following equipment..
All items have a metal plate on the backside to make them stick to the magnet.
Harri Blutgrätsche has two different arms, one with a pistol and one with a hammer.
Ruprecht also has two arms, one with a sword ans the other holding a lantern.
And Bertl has two different heads - one with a helmet and one without.
The miniatures are mostly from Reaper. The Engineer is from Avatars of War, the slayers are from Tales of War, Hias is from Scibor Miniatures and bertl is from Dwarf Tales.
The Slayer with two Axes originally carried two Hammers, which is replaced with axes from a GW Trollslayer.
The Engineer had a gigantic two-handed axe which i replaced with a one-handed hammer.
I have to admit that i didn't paint those models myself! I only selected the miniatures, drilled and glued the magnets, did some minor conversions (like swapping weapons) and put the small metal plates onto the weapon bits.
Props for the paintjobs go to Sigur
from Warseer, a fellow austrian painterwho did this (in my eyes) wonderful work.
His WIP thread can be found here
. There are also some other very nice commissions in there!
I hope you like Bertls Crew!
