I'm incredibly impressed by the flawlessness of the blending and the obvious time you spent on tiny details like tattoos - they've really come through on the models!

As a LONG-TIME player of the Legend of the Five Rings RPG, I have a special place in my heart for models like these.

Do you actually PLAY with such incredibly painted models!? I'd be terrified that they'd chip, get broken, get stolen, or otherwise be damaged... I may just be paranoid, but I'd lock them in a glass cabinet and never take them out.

thanks, maximus! i will use them in games if opportunity strikes. i play with all of my models if i get a chance to. note though that wo dont lay them down when hurt, we just place tokens to prevent chipping, especially with metall models, plastics is never a problem.

AH SO, UBERCOOL Ogres, & a TRULY GREAT paint job! While perfection is an unobtainable goal, these Guys come REALLY close. I LOVE your choice of colors, the way you blend them, AND the INCREDIBLE tattoos. VERY WELL DONE!

I agree that it is the unalienable right of all toy soldiers to be played with.
Since these Guys are all painted up AND can be used in BTB, I could move this thread to the Gallery section where it would get proper attention. It's your call.

As the others have said, the blending and the fine detail is incredible. Very jealous of your skills

Something else I noticed that I'd like to compliment is the hamon (temper line) on the weapons - another fine detail that really helps to give these models a distinctive far-eastern flavour.

In case you have other Japanese models in your queue, you might consider trying your hand at different styles of temper lines to really impress sword aficionados.

maximus: i thought i was quite clever with the hamon. i did them because the blades are quite big and i wanted them to be more interesting to look at. ive never painted anything nipponese before but who knows what the future will bling..
