What are the maxstats for Beastmen raiders? I use the Empires in Flames rules and can't seem to find them.

They are up here on mordheimer, and can also be found in the Mordheim Errata on the GW site (in the EiF part).

I got a question to the racial maximum characteristics:

How can an Ungor reach these (high) stats, if he can never become a hero? Or am I missing something?

And a similar problem concerning the Minotaur: how can he increase any stat farther than +1 if he can never become a hero either?

The maximum characteristics of these two state values they can never get according to my understanding...

Ungors can't become heroes. Minotaur can't increase by more than +1 since he can't become a hero either.

Your last observation is correct.

I need to bring this up again, since there's a mistake - the max stats on Mordheimer are not correct, if the Rules Review is the correct one; Beastmen has a max of 4 Wounds, not 5.

And is this really true?! Always played with them having 3 Wounds like pretty much all other warbands, so a confirmation on this would be awesome!

I'd guess that general Beastmen max stats are based on the ones from the Possessed list, in which case four wounds is two above their starting wounds, similar to most other things' max wounds.

As the heroes and gors from the Beastmen Raiders list all start on one wound, their max wounds should be three.

The Rules Review is the most up-to-date source, so you should use those for the max stats - which means that Beastmen do have a max of 4 wounds in the Beastmen warband, despite starting with only one wound (unlike the Possessed Beastmen).

Because they have almost no access to shooting and therefore need to be more meatier.

"Almost no access" - you mean "no access", right? Mr. Special Rules! Wink (no offense, I'd really love an Ungor Hero running around with a Bow, but Lowest of the Low is still an issue then)

I just still don't see it. If you compare them to an Orc warband, who I'd say were the closest, they start at higher Movement, Strength and Initiative, along with an extra Hero with even more movement - less Leadership, but that's it. Yes, the Orcs can shoot, but with Gors with access to Dodge & Leap along with Toughness 5, shooting should really not be an issue - you can hide half the way (or more).

I'm playing a lot of Beastmen myself, and I find it to be a bit unfair, if they have a max of 4 Wounds - I really don't see any convincing argument.

I am inclined to believe that the Rules Review merely ignored the issue since a max stat table for Beastmen already existed and the author of the new version declined to change the max stats himself.

Otherwise there is no reason for the Beasts to have more wounds.
