To anyone who has played these lil buggers before..... are the Red Toof Goblins worth it? WS 2, S 3, T 3, Frenzy? now 2 strike first attacks might be kinda cool but it is my opinion that goblins should be a flexible list and they really arnt a flexible choice. Has anyone had much success with using these lil guys?

Frenzy is always good. Sure, warbands should be flexible, but that doesn't have to mean that all models should be flexible, right. Send in the frenzied guys to clean up, or weaken the enemys ranks. Frenzy is a real matchwinner when applied properly. Besides, it won't be long until your maniacs have WS 3...

EDIT:
I mean, think about it, five toof boyz w/ swords (175 gc) = 10 attacks (without possible offhand dagger strikes), and ability to parry.

I've played a couple of campaigns without them. My strategy was to use the big spider on big things and shoot.

Then one of the other players in the group ran them without spider and with Red Toofs. First game, those little bastids ran right over a couple of my orcs! This campaign I'm trying the Red Toofs instead of the spider. So far they work great.

ok guys thanks.. now, in our group we beefed up armour / shields, you get an additional +1 in melee combat if you use shield with a 1 handed weapon or spear and off hand weapon attacks are at -1 WS. would you guys recommend spear/sheild combo or 2 sword ( or sword/ dagger till i get more money). im thinking spear shield for the first strike untill they get a WS upgrade or 2. im i going in the right direction? and are the blowguns any good? in large numbers i think they might be fun but that would cost a ton. any thoughts?

Blowguns blow. There are so many better uses of 25 gc. THAT's one thing I would turn Asp loose on.

We use the +1 AS for shields. Otherwise I'm going with sword and dagger because of the models I have. I'm thinking about spears because I lost a couple to the charge in my last game. Need to re-model.

If your group uses the Rescue scenario to rescue captured members, then keep it. Blowpipes are great for taking out sentries in that scenario because you can spend ages getting up close to them. Not particularly likely to work but fantastic when they do and, unlike in most scenarios, you don't really loose anything for trying to use them.

You know what is silly is that in actual warhammer blowguns are range 12, strength 3 with 2x multiple shots; how did they wind up with range 8, strength 1, +1 armor saves, poison and stealth?

I do honestly think blowguns are probably ok at 3 or 5 gc. They strike me as effective in mass against high toughness troops because of poison, but they need to be cheap to work that way. Otherwise they're crap.

These rules were written at the end of Warhammer 5th long before the appearance of the blowgun armed skinks you speak of. Using those rules is a possible fix...
