Thoughts on Dwarven Hired Swords?

I am just starting up a Dwarf warband. But I like to keep things like Hired Swords in theme with them.
Would you be happy to use or play against someone that has things like a Dwarf Merchant, Dwarf Warlock and Giant Dwarf Ogre?

I planning to use afew of the more odd GW minis.
Plastic OK Ogres with beards for the Bodyguard.
Dwarf adventurers pack and drunken Dwarves from the GW Collectors range for afew different things.
Arabian (Samurai) Merchant
Tilean (Drunken) Marksman
Original Mord Dwarf Pitfighter
Dwarf Warlock
Dwarfling Scout ect

What do you think?

Oh God. They are so cute. I love those old collectors models.
They would be perfect for Mordheim, I think.

I think also that the hired swords are not only humans - dwarfs wouldn't trust any other race than their own, so they may want to hire only dwarf hired swords. It's a good idea.

Yeah, that's true. Maybe dwarf ranger, dwarf mage and dwarf ogre are too much with their M5/6... and another elvish/ogre stats and rules. But merchant, or even warlock (one friend of mine used dwarf mini for warlock) are not so bad.

For the Ogre Im going to use an OK plastic Ogre and make it abit more Dwarfy.
Ranger and Mage may not fit perfectly but would you still play against them using the original Hired rules?

That's good idea. I think plastic ogres are excellent for conversions.

Well, now I know that I wouldn't... because I forgot that dwarfs cannot hire elvish hired swords

I ment Kislev Ranger, not Elf.
The basic question is, Would you play against Dwarf versions of all the Hired Swords they can take? (within reason obviously)

Yes, I would!
I like such "racial versions" of hired swords. I have Skaven warlock and Skaven highwayman for Clan Eshin warband, and my husband converted a dwarf gladiator for his dwarfs. It looks really nice when you have a dwarf warband and the hired swords are also dwarfs.

Now just have to wait for them to turn up

Good luck, I can't wait to see how these turn out. I love the idea of keeping Hired Swords 'race specific'; makes sense, and is very cool.
