New Blood Angels Empty
PostSubject: New Blood Angels   New Blood Angels Icon_minitimeTue 9 Mar 2010 - 5:15

Well, Blood Angels are on the chopping block next.

Looks like there will be a new codex and a whole host of new minis, including 3 (!) entirely new special characters and 2 new plastic kits (one of which is an altogether new unit).

Here's a quick rundown:

The Sanguinor - New character in gold armor similar to the old Commander Dante - some muscle detail and a facemask (actually he looks a lot like Mordred did in the 80's movie Excalibur!). His armor also has decorative wings. He's supposed to be some mysterious angel-like character that swoops in and helps the Blood Angels - representative of their nobler qualities.

Astorath the Grim - Another new character, sort of a foil to The Sanguinor. Se's wearing red armor that kind of resembles the typical "Dracula" style and has big black wings on his armor. He also carries a large axe whose handle is modelled like a spinal column.

Chapter Master Gabriel Seth - Chapter Master of the Fleshtearers, a successor chapter. I actually really like the model, he's wielding a huge two-handed chainsword, and he's toned down quite a bit in terms of style when compared with the aforementioned two characters.

The Sanguinary Guard - A plastic set, these guys are some sort of veteran types, with jump packs, gold muscle armor, and wings (decorative, on the jump packs). They seem to boil down pretty much to Grey Knights with jump packs (huge power weapon, wrist-mounted bolders).

There's also a new Chaplain Lemartes model and a Death Company plastic set. Both plastic sets are 5-man squads and weigh in at a hefty $33 USD.

You can see all of them in the 40K advance orders page on the GW site.
