| Got the painted (civilian type) figures, got the (Dwarven Forge) medieval building terrain and I've also got some ideas for things like bar brawl appropriate Mordheim rules modifications and player character motivation. My intention is to run occasional games with characters developing - in terms of stats, skills, motivations - over time rather than to brawl with established Mordheim warbands.
I also have a copy of the White Dwarf Brewhouse Bash game, but I was wondering whether any of you have done bar brawls using Mordheim rules before? If so, please share your tips on what worked and what didn't. If not, feel free to throw in your bright ideas anyway.

| I'm a bit confussed, do you want to play "normal" mordheim in a bar or a game(s) about bar fighters? Either way it sounds fun. I don't have any tips at the moment since I'm unsure what you want | |

| Thanks for the TC19 and BTB tips. I'll check them out when I'm home after my travels. - Alex wrote:

I aim to run a bar fight using the Mordheim rules. That said, playing a bar fight using the Mordheim rules in an actual bar could be fun The bar fighters won't be normal Mordheim warband members. Most will be basic "civlians" with youngblood profiles though a few will be more competent. They'll be no armour and weapons will be limited to things like fists, bottles, tankards, daggers and bar stools.

| Great idea, you wish to make it "stand alone" game? This could be very, very cool! Do you have any ready ideas? How about some "drunkard" skill list? | |

| BtB definitely has the Last Orders scenario, but it was written for the Nemesis Crown campaign and also appears in the Sartosa campaign by Styrofoamking. Where ever you get the scenario from it is a great time. We started including it in our campaigns during the Nemesis Crown and have never stopped. We break up bars in the Empire, Lustria, Araby and Sartosa.
We hardly ever remember to use the random event charts, but they look like fun. Another source of tavern fighting is the rules for Legends of the High Seas, which adds throwing lubbers through windows rules.

| Ah, the legendary bar brawl! I remember reading one Conan episode where it happened and loved it! Altought, i can see a game of brawling taking place in the campaign I personnaly feel that you should avoid the possibility to get killed in it. Bar brawls tends to get fought out with fist and bottles.
It would be awesome to have the characters in one or two warbands gettin all drunk and fighting the local drunkards! Perhaps not that awesome if your captain gets killed by a knife in the neck by a dead drunk thug....

I'm thinking of an occasional game i.e. once or twice a year. I thought it would be good to have a story develop with individual bar fighters gaining experience (and getting skills or statistic increases), but also picking up injuries and developing grudges against other models etc. I'm still thinking about the mechanics. Most will be simple Mordheim rules which should cover all the normal moving, fighting, diving off the balcony activities that you would expect in a bar brawl. More challenging is the motivation of the fighters. I'm thinking of something based on the 7 deadly sins (lust, greed, envy etc.) I'm also toying with a "friend or foe" mechanism to influence what other fighters you instinctively want to protect or punch. A drunkard skill list is certainly worth thinking about!

| For mechanics, mayby try to convert some warmachine stuff like double handed throw, head/arm lock, headbutt, slamm. Throwing one guy at another would be funny. About motiv | |

| In Brewhouse Bash from NC, BRB, etc every warrior roles twice on the Serious Injury Table and picks the best result. This acknowledges that the brawl occurred without weapons and *usually* if less deadly. | |

| I was thinking something like what RationalLemming was suggesting. Seems like a good middleway.
Gonna keep an eye on this thread, seems like a really nice idea!
