A project for Half term

Can easily go through all that balsa in no time just making terrain You can do it!

This pulled me out of from being a lurker. Very cool.

As to how to store this,I had a large roman styled pit fighting arena that I drilled a hole in one corner large enough to fit over a nail and I hung the thing from the wall like a piece of art. If you have a space away from tall heads you might consider that storing option.

EDIT: now that I think of it, the hole was hidden under the dead space of the structure so you couldn't see it.

Your "tacked together" piece looks TERRIFIC...& gives us some indication as to how UBERCOOL the Theater will look.
I'm SURE the extra balsa wood will not go to waste.

Firstly a big thank you for all the great compliments
Okay this ones a biggy
Finished all the outer panels they need a little triming and a little filler.
Then went on to make the first flight of stairs using a jig to hold whilst drying then fitting with landing.
Next the interior floors and stage area.

Top work Simon. It will be a real centre piece to fight over. Love the scaffolding on the outside - adds loads of character.

I am impressed. This is an ambitious project, and it is coming along nicely. I really like the stairs and scaffolding: those are some great touches.

I think this project could just absorb details and bits like a sponge. You can take this in so many different directions as the level of detail you want to have and play with on a regular basis. Wonderful work, mate. Keep ut up!

Having been away for a week things have slowed a bit but heres some shots of the initial stages of the interior .
lots of trimming and sanding still to be done .

It is still stunning! Will it be easy o move the minis around inside though?

Hopefully it will retain its playability the balconies are only 10-15cm deep for the most part and having the large open space in the middle helps the most akward bit will be the entrance way which is double depth .
Planning on having 90 percent of the roof missing/destroyed to further increase playability .

the woodwork came out quite nicely! well done!

Magnificent! The idea in which you have based this upon is very unique and it should be absolutely exquisite once it is finished! I can't wait to see the structure in all of its former glory!
