PostSubject: WIP Mordheim Ogre   Sun 31 Jan 2010 - 14:30

My first post here and I thought I would share my progress on my old Ogre miniature that I'm going to use for my Mordheim gang.

The hat, shoes, all orange parts and the head by his feet are a long way from being finished but most of the other parts I'm pretty pleased with.

Crits and comments are of course highly welcomed Smile

Nice paintwork but... isn't the mini a bit small for an ogre?

Keep up the good work!

I like the fablish style he has. It has some similarities with a John Bauer painting (for all you none-swedes he was a Swedish illustrator).

Welcome to our forum (You may want to introduce yourself in the "welcome newbies" section), and thanks for sharing your work.

Showing pics of your models is the best way to present oneself here.

That seems like a way old GW ogre, and centaily they were smaller that the new ones, but has lots of character and a certain "nostalgia" to them.

Nice choice of colors and a very clean shadow-highlight work.

Hope to see him finished soon.

Best wishes.

What an entrance! That's a great looking ogre so far, can't wait to see the finished product!

Is the model one of the (very) old Citadel ogres, or is he another manufacturer?

First of all, thanks for all the nice comments!

As widgren(tjenare totte!) has already said, it's one of the imperial ogres from marauder miniatures and he might be small compared to the new ones. But he's a lot more handsome if you ask me.

@popmouth Yeah your right, he does look a little bit like taken from a john bauer painting Smile

@magokiron I might just do that, introduce me that is, just need to figure out what to say about myself so I'll get back to that in a while Smile

That's a really nice model, very well painted. It fits well with the warband. Although its quite small for an ogre its certainly a lot bigger than the humans in the picture. I like the small details on the figure like the hole in the mail, the loose stocking (though I wouldn't tell an ogre it was wearing stockings!) and the dent in the breastplate.

The model in front is from the dog's of war range (warhammer) I believe.

Your painting is excellent.

Indeed its an model from the fabolous Dogs of War range. That model is no other than Ricco himself from Riccos Republican Guard.
A lovely character who suits well in Mordheim!

OT: Very nice painting, and a gorgous set of figures you got there Jorisch!

I hope you and Totte soon brings both figures and your awsome terrain to our local game shop?? Smile
