I have always liked the idea of Dwarf Firebombs (TC #7 and 2002 Annual) but the rules for their use are like many rules: vague.

There is no mention in TC #7 of them being one use only like Holy Water or if once you have found them you have them for the whole campaign like javelins or Hunting Arrows.

Do you need a skill to use them? Weapons Master for instance?

Do they take a missile weapon slot, like Javelins or Throwing Knives or are the just equipment like a Rope and Hook or Hunting Arrows?

Holy Water, same deal, same questions. (Well except for the one use only as noted above.) We have always played that Holy Water is just equipment and any hero can use it.

Fairly certain they are both one use, heroes only, no skill needed. Imagining a firebomb as a lower-tech hand grenade should give you a decent idea of re-usability...

As far as I know there's no ruling one way or the other, so I'd say just use the common sense approach:

One use only
Equipment, not a weapon, so no skill to use and they don't take a weapon slot

They both are part of miscellaneous equipment, so everybody can take them both without picking skills.
They're both one use (in our group we had the same issue with the holy water, but we ended up using common sense, if there is a vampire in front of you, you'll throw him the entire flask of holy water, not only a portion), and because of they're both miscellaneous, they do not occupy missile nor melee slots.

Thanks everyone. For Fire Bombs I think we have always put too much emphasis on their similarity to thrown weapons. Usually the first thing that comes up in our discussions is "must have Weapons Master" to use them. Thus warbands without shooting skills are screwed.

Could be interesting in ol' Mordhiem from now on...
