A week ago we decided to do something else than Mordheim... but it's a big change. Of course, we don't plan to abandon Mordheim and WH40k forever - we only need some rest Wink There hundreds of army lists in this game, so there is no chance to collect them all; but one army, why not? So, I began to paint my ancient British army. The 15mm miniatures are very... strange. But it's much easier to paint them, because they are much more schematic than 28mm Smile

Ok, first minis:

The little Guys look FANTASTIC...in an historical way, of course. They're a bit too tiny for my tired old eyes to paint, but GREAT for large scale battles. Have FUN with your change of pace project!

Lake. Can be also used as mini-lake for 28mm games, although it's made for DBA.

Nice looking minis! DBA is alot of fun. I have a few armies since they are super cheap and comparatively easy to paint. I have Marian Romans, Gauls, Alexandrian Macedonians and Sassinid Empire. I am currently working on my vikings and have an egyptian chariot army coming in the mail.

VERY NICE LOOKING MINIS! The amount of details that they manage to get on 15s is incredible; AND you've managed to show it all WONDERFULLY. The Little Guys are a bit beyond my weary old eyes, but the smaller scale suckers are really the way to go with large scale games. Keep posting your WORKS of WONDER!

Thanks Al Smile I'm sure you could paint these minis, too. It's not so hard, they have as many details as they can in 15mm, but they're far more schematic than 28mm minis. And you are not SO old!

I tried to take some better pics. Maybe now it looks better:

They ARE very tempting. Having started out as a historical gamer, the little guys have a certain appeal. I'm probably only being saved from launching myself into the smaller scales by the SHEER NUMBER of 28s I now have in backlog...counting John's minis in the mix, I figure there are something like 20,000 little metal & plactic people calling for my attention. Of course, this might not be an adequate deterrent.

You know you're old when your doctor refers you to a Paleontologist. Emotionally though, I'm still about 12.

Each army contains 12 bases, but most of armies have more than one possibility, so I need more minis Smile
So it may be more than 40 minis (with all possibilities), although I can play only 25 (or something like that) of them in one battle.

That's a nice manageable size. When I was into Napoleonic gaming, my Wurtemburgers were one of the smaller armies at 650 minis...TRULY a mind numbing project.

Those models are AMAZING for how tiny they are! Wow!

And they still look like your models! Painting style and all!

You did not let the small size hamper your quality!

Thanks guys! My army is almost finished now. I will only paint more warbands, but for my favorite British army (with 4 chariots!) it's enough.

So - one of the most important things. The camp!
