I've just start to read the rules and playing the game but i can't fine how much experience before you get a new skill can you help me with this ?

The rosters on the last pages of the rulebook have boxes that you tick off each time you gain exp. The bold ones indicate that you get to roll on the advance table.

And you never get a new skill unless you get the "New Skill" result on said advance table.

I'll post this here 'cause it's the same subject:
This propably is a noobish question but the heros in a starters warband receive some XP. Does this mean they also get some advancement rolls before the first game? or are those boxes just discarded?

Those boxes are just discarded. They only get an advance when they hit the next box along.

The HERO'S starting experience NEVER makes them gain any advance rolls.

It just represents the experience they earned PREVIOUSLY (and made them heroes, with improved stats over the followers).

In game terms, you'll notice that the thick boxes for gaining new skill, are increasingly appart.

As heroes are usually better skilled and equipped that others, the fact that they don't start at "0" experience, just make them a little slower to gain new skills or better stats; otherwise they cuold be very powerful very soon in the game.

But remember, Heroes gain experience EACH TIME they survive, put OOA an opponent, or fulfill an scenario objective, so (with a little luck and good tactics) they grow very quickly indeed.

Henchmen and Hired Swords that reach 2, 5, 9 and 14 experience roll for advances.





Heroes that reach 2, 4, 6, 8, 11, 14, 17,
20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 41, 46, 51, 57, 63, 69, 76, 83 and 90
experience roll for advances.
