Coming soon i'm gonna start an Ostlander warband, because I was looking for a Merc warband, and I though they're funny, but the problem comes about the fluff. You can read tones and tones of it, if you're looking for info about skavens, Chaos, and whatever the band you want, but Ostland, as province of the Empire, has a lack of history, dilluted in the Empire.

I read what was written at 2002 Annual, wikipedia and 'scratches' of info at Empire's histories, but I'm looking for fluff to my band, where I can found stories about Ostland?

(BTW, Ostland means "Land of Cheese" in swedish Very Happy. Put THAT in your fluff!)

ACTUALLY, probably the best thing the GW design Guys did was to leave background material rather vague & sketchy; i.e., it allows you to make up your own background to the level you want with the emphasis on things that interest you.
If you start by developing a local Lord with his or her background, family tree, local history, et all, & then fit your War Band within that context you'll have something uniquely your own AND whose to say your rendition is any less correct than anyone else's. SO...the best source of fluff IS your own imagination. NOW start day dreaming.

Yes, GW designed vague background/fluff material...but not when we talk about Skavens, Orcs & Goblins, Chaos, and so on. But Ostland, and Averland, and at certain degree, Reikland, Middenheim, etc in other hand, as Empire provincies, have way less background material. Not only official, but fan-made too. That's the 'problem' I've with Ostland.

Also:
Von Kurst, thanks for the page

I wrote that, actually...

At warhammer-empire, we have done our best to fill in some of the blanks in the fluff.
