so i was wondering, the warband dosn't put any restriction on as far as what hired swords can be used, so what hired swords can goblins? know i was thinking that they'd have the same restrictions as orcs and goblins, but then i was thinking goblins might be more inclined to accept outside help, and people won't be as afriad of goblins without the orcs around. then again their are 19 of them and that gigantic spider.

Not sure the official word, but Pit Fighter, Ogre Body Guard and Warlock sounds reasonable for the core HS.

Halflings are the same size of goblins, I think they would still have concerns. Dwarves hate greenskins, so thats the Troll Slayer and Treasure Hunter out. Elves are pretty picky about the company they keep.

Any of the outlaw types would probably work with goblins, perhaps not so much Roadwardens ... Bounty Hunter ... might, if it ment getting his catch I suppose.

I would say to play it safe go with the same hired swords as Orcs & Gobbos, but you can always see what others your group will allow. I would think that a highwayman, for instance, would be reasonable, as would an assassin, witch, and really any other unsavory type you can think of. Just see what the players in your group think sounds reasonable.

I think I already posted them on this site (though I could be wrong), but I also wrote up a 'Squig Hopper' and a 'Doom Diver' Hired sword. Completely untested, but if you can't find them, I can repost them.

For the night goblins warband i'm in the process of writing, i copy what the orcs and goblins allow. It is up to the individual player group to interpret this further to include newer hired swords, sadly, thus is the state of the game!

Styro: Yep you posted them in my Night Goblin progress log, and i like them... new version in the works by the way!

hahaha yes you should definitely look up the doom diver! He's too much fun to pass up, utterly ridiculous, just the way he should be.

Hey Myntokk, have you actually had a chance to play him? What's he like? Laughing

On paper, he's just a gliding 'diving charger' with amazing range, but I'm sure that actually using him is a whole 'nother matter.

I only tried him out once, but that's pretty much exactly how he operates. I guess when you put him that way he doesn't sound particularly zany, but I find him to be humorous much in the same way that playing all-goblins warbands are humorous - they're such silly creatures that almost anything they do is just begging for laughs.

Add to this that diving charges usually take time and fortuitous circumstances to set up, and even then they're a bit risky, fatal at worst. So now throw in that you've got a goblin (comedic enough as it is), and his entire goal is to attempt these ridiculous feats of bravado from across the battlefield, and the whole thing is just very funny.

With a 50% chance of failing every time to boot. Very Happy I always thought that best part about Greenskins was their pure unpredictability.
