| I know the warrior limit for a Witch Hunters warband, but do warhounds count towards that number? | |

| Yes they do, as this was one of the things the creator was going to change then decided not to as he thought it would unbalance them. Doc | |

| Why did he think it would unbalance them?? Are the Witchhunters so good?? Do people use the dogs later into the campaigns since they don't level up? Are there any use for them later into the campaign? | |

| I think it's best to houserule them. Check this.Wyldhunt is on the right tracks if you ask me. Especially after reading the interview with Tuomas Pirinen. | |

| Thanks for the plug, Kaptain! I'm still thinking about this overall issue, but haven't come to a good point to alter the proposal yet. Specifically for Witch Hunters, for now the best proposal seems to be house rule Warhounds as 0-3 models; do not count towards the warband's maximum size. | |

| I never really experienced any problems with them... even if dogs don't gain exp. they're so cheap you can use them as bait, or to block an alley... great! With so few models, you can quickly gain good weaponry too, (5 heroes, perhaps a hired sword, some skills, some maps, and you'll be stacked on casch quickly enough! | |

| Thanks for the info guys, now I am going to have to re-think how I want to contruct this warband. I suppose five heros and five hounds (I like my hound models). Would this type of warband work? | |

| It might be nice for a one off game. 5 heroes, at least 2 flagellants and 3 hounds is a nice start. I add flagellants until I can get the LGT hero.
No matter how much you like hounds, they will never help advance the warband. Only flagellants and zealots can gain experience and become heroes and of the 2 flagellants make the better hero.

| Take in mind that your hounds can't climb like normal warriors. So the more hounds you take, the more ladder dependant you become. | |

As far as I know in Mordheim they can. Rules lawyering aside, do think they should be able to? Anyone who tried to pull that on me would get a good ol' bitchslap.

| I was joking, but those are some pretty impressive pics... I would assume a warhound would be very well trained... | |

| A few uses uses for dogs in a Witch Hunter (or other) warband: 1. Disposable fodder allowing you to voluntarily rout sooner 2. Engaging the opposing warband quickly to bog them down while everybody else gets into position 3. Supporting heroes with faster speeds than others (sprint skill) 4. Outflanking the enemy to "herd" them or cut off avenues of escape, etc | |

| Thanks for the input about the warhounds. I will need to re-think about this warband. I'm leaning towards the heros, flagellants, warhounds combo. | |
