WOAH! Thats a beautiful piece of terrain right there. I wish I could play on it right now. =D The graveyard is just fantastic, the details on the tomb stones are fantastic. And then the smashed pew in the church itself, just great!

Looking forward to get it finished. Next up is some final tushes then the roof. After that I'll start on the catacombs. Couse now you can play with the church in the battlefield.

Gonna get the tumb out of my ass and take some pictures of the warband.

*plop* Whatever you do, don't sniff it... Wink

Looking good! I like the detail and the dark atmosphere. Where did you get the model? Is it a conversion?

I'll be checking back for further progress... Keep it up!

@Boreas_NL, I promise not to do it...

The ground/mud is made of some little bigger sand prox 1-2 mm scattered around in diffrent places mainly in corners, then covered with 2 layers of very thin chinchilla sand. Wich you can buy in pet stores.

The priest is a conversion, check the first side on this post.

Great finish on the church! The painting has brought it to life! Or should I say its former life.

PostSubject: Re: Church (WIP)   Tue 3 Nov 2009 - 3:49

Thanks all!

About the painting...

I always base coat all the terrain with GWs chaos black spray, as it gives a great matt base. To do that without melting the foumboard I've used a watered down layer of pva glue on the model. Even over the sand, so that it wont fall of any when painting and gaming on it.

Then i drybrushed everything with charadon granite (GWs foundation), then I mixed it with dheneb stone an drybrushed it again, then i but in some more for the final drybrush. After that I washed it all whit a mix of scorched brown and chaos black, and used some toilet paper to wipe some away. then a wash of black using the same method.

The bricks is first scorched brown then scorched brown mix with some red and orange. Then a black wash.

The wood is drybrushed with scorched brown then a thin drybrush of bestial brown.

The sand is first drybrushed with heavy with scorched brown, followed by khemri brown then dheneb stone. then some washes with black.

The static grass is a scorched gras brought in a model store, the brand is woodland scenics. That i washed with a mix of black and scorched brown.

Now its all the details left wish is not painted yet.

Some tips:

When you brybrush always use a "hard" bruch, syntetic is best.

When you wash always use regular colours mixed with water. DON'T use other already mixed washed, they suck.

The church looks fantastic! How come you haven't posted any pictures of the warrior priest in the painting gallery? He's incredible too.

Have not worked on the church lately.

But did some rubble, very fast built and painted. The painting is not finished tho.

Some details to paint. And a little grass here and there, then there finished.

MAKE THAT TWO! Making street furniture is one of the more enjoyable little Mordheim projects...lets all those creative juices flow. Looks like you made the most of ALL that flowing. VERY NICELY DONE!
