Gierburg Painting Log (by Admin Tom)

MIlliardo: The GW Jester is still available in the Colletor's stuff corner.

Siwoc: I will try to take a photo. The Blacksmith and the evil Jester are both 30mm miniatures so they are slightly larger than your average Warhammer/Mordheim figure. I don't mind though.

The Evil Jester is my ALL TIME favorite Cool Tom mini. Partially this is due it being a departure from the usual palette. LOVELY as the other pieces, after awhile a limited palette tends to make the different minis all look the same...that may very well be the ONLY criticism I ever had or will have with the BEAUTIFUL STUFF churning out from Fair Vienna.

Hmm... actually I really like the colour choices. They tie the minis together and give them a coherent look. After all, I'm picking minis from many many different manufacturers so the sculpts are already very different - not only in sculpting style but even in size ranging from 25 to 30mm. In the end it's the painting that unifies them and makes them one mass of Gierburg minis.

If the choice of colors makes you &, of course, Tom happy with the minis then it is the correct one. Different [brush] strokes for different folks & all that.

Today I'm showing you pics of Gierburg's Messengers of Death. These guys are basically hired super-hitmen, excelling at the craft of shadowing, obfuscation, stalking, sneaking, hiding, infiltrating and, well, assassinating.

According to the Gierburg backgroud, Messengers of Death traditionally wear "blood red masks".

Hah, that's brilliant. The little action shots at the end were especially great.

is it just me, or does anyone else think that the pictures with the settings do the minis more justice than the pics with a white background ?

Minis in their environs are a TRUE CINEMATIC EVENT...SO, It's just you, pascal.

VERY COOL STUFF...LOVE the street scene. It seems like Gierburg is experiencing a population explosion...& Tom's suffering from sleep deprivation.

Thanks! Yes, Cianty really takes cool pics. I love seeming the minis come to life in beautiful scenery!
